OM MANTRA SPA — Local services in Madison

Had a couples massage yesterday. First off we had my husbands masseuse talk to us and ask him where is tension was but mine never talked to me beforehand other than to bring the water soak for my feet. Now for my back, she used her elbow the entire time. Did not concentrate on any knots and didn’t release any knots. When I asked her to use her hands, like knuckles or fist instead she lightly put her fingers on my shoulder and her thumb just lightly touched my back. So she said “ do you feel that?” And then I just said keep using the elbow…lol. I thought it was just mine but my husband had the same experience…but i think his was more experienced with massages. But what she did do was douse him in oil. Lol. It was just so buzzare. Then when we left my masseuse didn’t do any after visit discussion, but the lady that did my husbands made him feel uncomfortable while I was in the bathroom, telling him he had no body fat and how fit his legs were. More attention was on him for sure. And even though we filled out the pre paperwork to say where we feel comfortable, in the middle of the massage she asks me is she can rub my feet and glutes. I said yes and then a couple times she was asking “is that good?” Like I am sorry but I don’t want to talk or answer questions when I am getting a massage. What sucks is I now need a massage to fix the damage she caused. My entire back is in pain with more knots than what I came with. It is definitely one of those funny experiences though where you just have to laugh. But nope we will...

I can honestly say that my almost three hours today at OM Mantra was complete perfection! Tenzin (the owner) her partner, Tonny, (spa manager and apparently the best nail technician in town - facial and pedi next up for me!), and my massage therapist/healer/miracle worker, Laura, are SO lovely and welcoming. The spa is quiet and peaceful and smells heavenly with fireplaces in both of the rooms where I had treatments. Tenzin did my foot stress reliever which was a salt scrub, leg and foot massage after a warm foot soak. I was a little stuffed up and she threw in a short, but amazing facial massage. Amazing! Then I moved down the hall for my 75-minute Ultimate Massage where I had added a scalp massage with coconut oil (DO IT!!) and CBD oil treatment (REALLY DO IT!!!). I had asked her about cupping and Laura very generously tried it out on my back, shoulders and arms where she knew I needed it. She literally pinpointed every single sore muscle and treated them to the point where I had zero soreness and felt absolutely amazing (not single bruise). She also treated me to hot stones and a little Reiki at the end. I got the serious red carpet/white glove experience and will be going back as soon as I can and recommend that whoever is reading this and wondering about this place...it is a total find...secret Madison gem. Could not recommend it and the people there...

First of all, OM MANTRA has an incredible vibe, healing from the moment I walked in. I am in love with the Eminence products that Tenzin uses and have been using a few of them for over a decade, so while I was waiting got to check out the other products that may be helpful for my skin at this point. After a few minutes Tenzin came out to greet me and I felt her absolute kindness and warmth immediately. Once in the treatment room, I completely relaxed because of her knowledgeable and skilled touch and understanding of her practice. I spent the entire treatment in a state of curiosity and absolute bliss, never have I felt such skilled hands on my skin. She layers the most beautiful feeling and smelling products onto your skin, massaging in ways I have never before felt. She also uses the latest techniques in facials and is able to explain every detail of what she is doing while she is doing it. It is an understatement to say I LOVED every moment. My skin has never felt or looked better and I am going to be a regular for sure. As a 50 + woman I believe that caring for ourselves is a crucial part of aging gracefully and optimizing how we feel inside and out.
