I am new to Madison and have been looking for a good Pho place. First couple visits here were good then it went down hill. I took my family to get food one nite and ordered the stir fry. As I swirled my fork I found literally a clump of hair inside. Totally grossed out. So they offers another dish which I took up. Believe me and I don’t post here ever but I felt like I had to. The second dish also had the same hair in it. I kindly paid for my food and left. A week later my wife said let give them another shot just because she really did like the flavor of the food. And hey hair In food is a common thing right…?Although hesitant I went against my gut feeling. So I order take out this time…bad idea. I took the food home and opened it up….the ribs which she had said were one of the most popular were dry and so small it would maybe amount to one long short rib cut into 8 small pieces. Then I opened the beef stir. The food looked like it was missing something and it was…sauce and seasoning. It was just noodles and some veggies. It was bland and tasted horrible. I decided to call her and tell her about the food. Her response was I was wrong because apparently she was standing behind him as he cook my dish out of all the dishes there being done. Also she said that is how it is always done and I was lying. 🤬. She just refused to take accountability. She didn’t even offer to do anything to make things better. I can say since I been coming here things have taken a turn for the worst. Kinda sucks because I really used to like coming here. Here is a pic so you all can see how dry and how it really has so seasoning or daisy like it should have. They are so rude I couldn’t even get some extra plum sauce without being hassled jeez. They definitely don’t care about their customers and all look so mean there. I mean I urge you to go and see for yourself. Oh and be careful about the price’s because the prices listed and the prices charged are different and when I asked about why my boba was 6 something and the price on the menu was 5 something and she replied those are old prices…lol don’t you think it would be good to change the prices to reflect the current prices or do you want to intentionally mislead your customers ? Shady AF....
Read moreThis place doesn't welcome Vietnamese clients even though the owner is Vietnamese herself. This is our second visit and also the last, we would never suggest this restaurant to anyone because both of their service and food quality was awful. First visit was ok, despite that all of their soup noodles were bad at taste, they were nothing close to authentic Vietnamese noodle soup (we had Pho, Bun Bo Hue, Hu Tieu). Service was ok, not very friendly and attentive but they got the jobs done. Second visit was unacceptable. What surprised me that it came from the owner, yes you hear me right, from the person that own this business. Usually it's the staff who messed up and then the owner or manager who had to come to weather the situation but this time it's the other way around. We came in, we said hi and asked for a table of 6 (in English), owner and staff looked at us, no answer. Maybe they didn't hear what we said, we repeated one more time in Vietnamese. The owner stayed quiet and just began grabbing some menus. She came to us and the first thing she said was "bring your dink outside, we don't allow outside drink". Wow, where is the "hello"? Where is the "hi welcome in!"? Where is the "oh I'm sorry but outside food and drinks are not allowed"??? Do you need me to teach you how to put that together? Mind you we only have one cup of Starbucks in hands, not like we tried to do any harm to her business or bringing like 5 or 10 drinks in. We totally respect that rules from a restaurant because we own a restaurant in California ourselves too. But what did we do to deserve that attitude? If you don't value your customers then you deserve to have 0 customers. And your foods are not even good. I don't think this restaurant will get any better in the future and I feel sorry for the staff that works here because it's really rotten from the head. Dear owner: I suggest you not coming to the restaurant if you keep passing on that negative vibe to your clients. I did not see you last time but your servers did fine without you. If you have to come because you're a cook, keep yourself in the kitchen and learn better recipes, your dishes...
Read moreThe food here is pretty good. Price wise, it's decent although the prices are slowing increasing. My boyfriend and I always get the saigon deluxe pho which is pretty good! This place has my favorite pho in Madison. It also has the BEST SPRING ROLLS! I always always get an order of spring rolls, they're sooo good here! I've had their vermicelli bowl and fried rice... It was good, nothing special. I took at star off because their service isn't that great. Idk if it's just me but I feel this vibe like the waitstaff doesn't like us. I get this feeling every time we go there. It almost feels like they're prejudice towards us (I honestly feel like they favor White Americans or the wealthy). This one time we went there, the host took like 2mins to notice us and asked us "how many" and then sat us. Five minutes later, an older couple walks in and they are immediately greeted with enthusiasm and the host asked them how they doing and was really friendly and all and then seated them. I was like WTF... Anyways, I always see the staff just sitting around and talking too. Their whole system sucks too. The host seats you and gives menus then they or the buster gives water; no one says a word to you. Then like five-ten minutes later, the server will come and take your order. It sucks because they don't take orders right away, not even drinks! My bf and I always order the same thing so we don't even need to look at menus. We're always ready to order. Once we asked the we asked our server why he was the only one taking orders and he said that everyone there had a an assigned task. The host only seats people and gives water. They buster only busts tables and only the server can take orders and bring food out (which is why there's always a 5-10min wait to order). I felt really bad for him because he was the only server and all his coworkers were just sitting around. The nicest people are the servers because they actually talk to the customers and are friendly. Everyone else is pretty shady. But the pho and spring rolls are sooo good, I tolerate...
