My husband decided the sign up he family in January. We moved to the area from Gainesville and we had to cancel our membership to our GYM in that city due to distance. When my husband came that January afternoon he was very excited because he got the same deal we had at our previous GYM. The problem was when I visited the facilities the day after and started asking questions about my kids and what they would have access with the membership. The answer was nothing, absolutely nothing. They will have to stay in the kids club all the time and they could not use the pool, basketball court or racquetball courts not even with our presence and supervision. I requested some explanation as for reason of this policy and they couldn't tell me, it was simply like that. My previous GYM allowed my kids to used those facilities during free times of the day with my supervision and there was never an issue. Well, it is safe to say that I wasted valuable time and effort and they remained firm. I did notice many pre-teens seated in the reception chairs reading and some other in the cardio equipment with their parents. We decided to give it a try and a week after attended our "Free Fitness Test". I took my 10 and 11 year old in the kids club as I was instructed. I have to say I was not impress by the smell and the amount of kids under 6 years old present for only two adults. I knew my kids will be fine because they do not require any supervision. We proceeded to our "Free Fitness Test" with a very nice instructor I have to say (no surprises there). Being our first time n the GYM I had no idea at what time the kids club closed and nobody, not even my nice instructor told me the time. At 8:10 I see my two kids seated in front of the smoothie shop they have inside the GYM (yes, why not workout for an hour and have your smoothie after). My husband asked them what they were doing there and they just told us the kids club closed and the adults told them to sit out there and wait for us. What?! They made me pay for this club and they just kicked my kids out without notifying me! Of course, that day it was not a problem to have my kids seated in there for as long as it took to finish our "Free Fitness Test" because they were trying to sell me a product and,..."its ok for them to wait there for us" as our nice instructor said. We decided to discontinue paying for a kids club that was going to put my kids out if their work hours were over and pay only for us. That day there were another bunch of pre-teens around the GYM waiting for their parents so I figure they could bring a book or homework and wait for us, just like the other bunch of kids. Oh no, how mistaken I was. It took another few weeks to finally give another chance to this GYM. Went there by myself and my husband arrive with the kids 30 minutes after. From my cardio machine I saw my husband talking at the reception counter for more than 20 minutes. I figure something was wrong and went there. The reception people told my husband that our kids couldn't stay in the reception chairs reading, that we needed to signed them up for the kids club. When I approached the reception counter they were making comments about my husband and the kids. My daughter was using the bathroom and the girl behind the counter turned around and very alarmed asked me where was the girl. I told her she was in the bathroom and asked if that was a problem. She say kids were not allowed to use the bathrooms in the GYM, only the ones at the kids club. After that amazing experience my next step was to cancel my membership. THIS GYM IS NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY! If you are single with no kids or an empty nester; this is the place for you. The personnel is young and naive. They are not prepared to answer questions about their policies, because they don't even know the policy. There is no sensitivity for families and they care very little about it. In the two months that we paid them I used the facilities twice and that costed me the sign up fee, two months in advance...
Read moreThe new staff are very unprofessional and rude, and Mr. Duncan who is supposedly a manager is not professional at all and doesn't even know about their policies on their own website about issuing a guest pass.
After a year in a half of being a member of the gym, paying every month even though I was out for almost a year because of a car accident, also paying for my sister who couldn't go back because of medical reasons, I finally was able to go back and took my mom to try it and see if she likes the gym and then join. I went to talk to one of the managers Mr. Duncan to see the different options I had because I needed to cancel my sister's membership but I wanted my mom to join. He didn't care about it nor even paid attention to us. There was a friend of mine who is a member of the gym and knew him and it was through him that my mom got a pass for 3 days. She couldn't use the pass right away because of some issues she had so Mr. Duncan called my mom again the first week of May to see when she was going to use the 3 days pass and my mom told him that she was gonna go the that weekend so he said that it was fine. When we got there on Sunday, May 8 (mother's day) Mr. Duncan told my mom that the pass already expired, without even looking at it, and there was nothing that he could do about it, so my mom told him that he told her in the phone that it was ok to go that weekend and that she was only going to use that one day of the pass, and now he was saying no. My mom felt humiliated on her day that she wanted to do something different and that we were there ready to do some exercise and he didn't even let her used the gym for that day.
The new staff that the gym has now are very unprofessional and don't know anything about customer service or how to treat probable new members nor their own members. They are very rude and not friendly at all. I guess they already have enough members that they don't care about losing a member nor getting new ones. They are only nice to those they like, when every member should have the same rights and be treated with the same respect.
According to the website, once you are issued a free 3 days pass you have 30 days to activate it at the club and then use it for 3 consecutive days. My mom never activated hers and it was less than 3 weeks so according to their rules, she was still able to use it and Mr. Duncan didn't let her get in.
Now I'm gonna look for a new gym who cares and provides good...
Read moreWe are new members and will soon be non-members. The initial impression when I met with Ernesto was positive. The gym itself was well-equipped with plenty of exercise equipment, a pool, basketball court, and locker room, all a person needs to get a good workout. The location is good for me as well. I've been able to workout several times so far and have had no problems finding and using the equipment I need. Here is what I didn't like:
I was promised a digital version of the contract emailed to me and it never was. I contacted the club to get a digital copy but they said they couldn't, but they printed me one off.
Second, I made an appointment for an initial personal training fitness assessment and no one ever showed up. This appointment was made by the manager.
Thirdly, when my wife as a new member wanted to tour the club, she went in and the people at the front desk told her to go look around herself instead of having someone help and show her where everything is and explain about the club.
Fourthly, after my assessment, the trainer said he would call my wife that day or the next day at the latest to set up an appointment with her. This didn't happen for several days. Eventually my wife went in for her initial personal training fitness assessment and reported to me that she felt she was doing the various exercises incorrectly and the trainer did not offer any correction. She felt unsafe and feared she may hurt her shoulder from not being in the proper position.
Lastly, I informed the trainer when I was there I wanted to give my wife personal training, none were offered to her. I was astounded, but I guess my money isn't good enough for this place.
Advice: When you promise your customers something, deliver on that promise. I was let down four times. Three is...
