Brought my phone here, on a Monday afternoon, after seeing that my screen on my Google Pixel 6 Pro was separating, while inside my case. I called first to ask if they were open and available - They were. I had never heard of this store before. Upon arrival I was quickly seen and discussed the issues with the employee there. The employee stated that they did not have the Pixel 6 Pro batteries in stock at that location but that I could travel ~40 minutes to one of their other locations and get the service done there or I could wait and have one of their regional staff managers bring a battery another day, or have them order a battery. Since they offered the service, and it's built into their price, I opted to have them transfer the battery from the secondary location, figuring it would be faster than ordering one...
I left with my phone and waited a few days. The receipt stated that I'd be notified by 06/11. So on the morning of 06/12 I contacted the store to inquire if the parts had come in. The employee stated that the parts were in-store and that they had called an left a voicemail (and gave me the time of the VM call) on my phone, but I never received it. No worries! I'm sure they did leave me one. I'm just happy to finally be able to get it fixed. Not stressing over a day!
Upon arrival they stated that they were going to put my phone into a repair mode and that they wouldn't be able to access any of my data while it was in that mode, and to enter and exit that mode they'd need my PIN (which they DO NOT write down or keep in any way). Very happy to see that their customers' personal data, in their phone is secure, and that curious eyes wouldn't be looking through it (not that I think they would!) Nice to see they care to educate and re-assure their customer base. They also use GENUINE and not aftermarket parts for Google and Samsung, unlike other shops.
The only gripe I had was the price -- but then again, who doesn't whine over an expensive bill?! ...$150+ for a battery replacement seems a bit much. But, I do understand that they need to pay for 2 staff members every day, insurance, rent for the space, and parts... But, at least maybe give first-time customers a 10-30% discount to keep them coming back, maybe..? Another shop told me they'd do the battery replacement for $80. But again.. who doesn't want best price? It's crazy to me that it's failing so soon, when I've always kept it in a case, only dropped it twice, and always take care with it. I ordered the phone in April 2022, from Google, for just over $1,050! I am happy with the service I got, and hopefully this will be the only time I'll have to make such a heavy investment into a phone that's not even 4 years old to me yet... Great job on the work, uBreakiFix. Hopefully I'm good for another 3-4...
Read moreYeah, so I gave the store a call because I wanted to talk to them about the review I was about to leave. The manager offer to lower my increased diagnostic fee back down from the 100 free diagnostic crept up to down to 29.99 if I stopped by. I considered it honestly. He is a nice enough guy, but this isnt about nice. Brought my computer in because it was blue screening and they told me it would not boot. So they tried a new power supply, then claimed it needed a new board, installed the new board and it still wouldn't boot. Because the board was a "lot of work" they said the fee had to go to 100. So I had them put it all together and picked it up. Dropped it off with a friend of my who does over the phone IT support. He ran a vacuum through it, unplugged and plugged in the board to the power supply and it booted right up. He reinstalled windows and we are working on the problem that originally brought me in now. But come on, have you unplugged and plugged it back in? Have you cleared out any dust? Seems like very basic trouble shotting to have not even have been tried. Its embarrassing really that I gave my pretty advanced rig to these guys in the first place. A partial refund would have been nice, spending 100 bucks for them not to sort out the power button is super frustrating. But really I feel like it is more important to shar this story and warn people off bring their pcs here. Maybe they are better with phones but I will definitely give them a pass on all future computer repairs. I get there is no point in paying off the guy who left the bad review who has no intention on taking it down, so I this point I am just writing off the fee and moving on with my life. Photos show it up and running with in an hour of me taking it back. They had my machine for weeks. Let the...
Read moreUpdate: I know the manager responded to this post but I was NOT contacted. NOT ONLY DID THEY MESS UP MY IPAD WHICH ONLY NEEDED A RESTORE, BUT THEY HAVE TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.
I walked into UBreakIFix stating that my iPad would not turn on fully. Instead, the white apple insignia would stay on my screen. My ipad had this light crack across the screen. When dropping off my ipad, Antonio asked that if he needed to open my ipad, my screen could possibly get worse. He stated a price of approximately $249 for a new screen. I told him, that if he HAD to open it, then do so. I also added that I wasn't looking to spend that much and he told me about Azurion. He stated that I wouldn't pay anything. Antonio calls me to tell me that he opened my ipad and that he not only broke my screen but also broke the wifi antennae. Of course, he had to order the wifi antennae and I wouldn't be charged. At the end of it all, the only thing my ipad needed was a restore. Upon paying $20 for the restore, he admitted to not needing to open my ipad. Therefore, my screen could have been salvaged. Not only is my screen lifted but it is cracked. My bluetooth does not pair well with my devices. Antonio did offer 10% off for my screen. I'm sorry but $25 is nothing off of $249. I'm highly and will steer everyone away from this store. Sadly, this ipad was the one I was to use to teach my high school students.
Update: My volume on the ipad doesn't...
