This location at 9870 Liberia Ave, Manassas, VA 20110 needs some serious TLC. I came to this location yesterday at 10/13 around 8:15-8:45 am est and had to order through drive thru because the app wasn't working as it should've been for me to pre order ahead of time. The customer service representatives were on the intercom giggling and often making me repeat the order a few times before telling me to pull forward. I clearly told them I was there to take advantage of the buy one get one for .13 cents promotion. I get to the window after saying I wanted one dozen glazed, and a dozen assorted with 3 lemon filled, 3 strawberry w/ sprinkles, 3 raspberry filled, and 3 original glazed. I get to the window, I tell the representative I would like each dozen in separate bags and asked which was the glazed and which was the assorted so that I didn't get them confused. After handing my phone to let the representative get the gift card information to pay for the purchase, she goes "You can't do both." In which I responded to her, "why not?" One is a promotion of .13 cents and one is a gift card which is a form of payment. The guy next to her goes, "oh, you didn't tell me it was a gift card." Then proceeds to help her enter the information to pay. At this point I'm running extremely late because they're fumbling around with the order and card. She then blurts out 18.18, as the total but had already cashed out the order and had taken it off my gift card. Frustrated, I nodded and because I was in a rush, I didn't think more of it and drove off. I have no receipt, and my order is wrong but I couldn't do anything about it because now I was at work. I called several times to the location, no answer. The order had NOTHING I asked for outside of one glazed donut and 2 lemon filled and 1 raspberry. Neither of the filled donuts had enough filling. In fact the fronts were all just dough and the filling was in the back. The one original wasn't even hot and the hot sign was supposedly just turned off. The rest of the box was filled with Scooby Doo donuts that I DIDN'T ASK FOR and I'm sure was charged EXTRA which is probably why the one dozen came out to be 18.18! Then to have no receipt so I could later claim my rewards points because the app was down that morning and I used my gift card, on top of the fact that I was charged 18.18 for one box of donuts! When the other was buy one get one for .13 cents is ridiculous! I'm not sure why she placed the over charged donuts in my box but yesterday's experience was enough for me to be upset to complain. This location needs serious help!
Professionalism, timeliness, updated customer ordering board at the intercom is also...
Read moreWent there bc it was the free dozen donuts day. That was my first time at any Krispy Kreme.
SERVICE: I have no clue what transpired, tbh. Went to the counter and asked if the free dozen deal is still available. The dude said no. Like, what??? It litrerally said on your site and the app that it is. Then, for some reasons, he said that it was still on. ??? Anyway, I asked to clarify that if I ordered any set of dozens that the deal would still apply. He seemed confused. Then he went on to explain, FINALLY, that the free dozen consists of plain donuts only. Wow, you could have just said that. Anyway, got my 2 dozens and went to pay. I ordered a drink and waited for it to be made. Then he asked for a code and I thought he meant the coupon code. He said no. Then later, he said it's the phone number because he already applied the code to my order. Like what the what??? Did I just enter the Matrix or something? 10 minutes went by, still nothing. The dude looked at me a couple times while he was working with other customers but said nothing. Finally, a nice lady came by and asked me what I was waiting for and she made it for me... on the coffee machine that was literally right behind the checkout counter. This dude was supposed to make it for me and he just didn't. Like dude, have I done something to hurt you? That was the strangest exchange I had ever had in my life. I just wanted some donuts, man. Anyway, I don't know what the general service is like but my interaction was less than pleasant and that dude sucks.
FOOD: I think it's fine? People kept telling me to try it because it's better than Dunkin but I can't tell the difference tbh. Maybe the donuts are thinner, smaller, and softer and that makes it easier to digest. The Bavarian cream at Dunkin is better. The texture is a bit more nuanced than the one-note softness at Dunkin so it's more interesting and fun to eat. They freeze well, however. Nothing to write home about. It's... donuts?
ATMOSPHERE; Nice and spacious. Clean. It smells good bc of the baked goods.
Really disappointed with the service. This shop is 30 mins away and it's the closest one to me. I don't think the food and service merit a second visit. I'll stick with...
Read moreI find that this Krispy Kreme location is far inferior to the location on Richmond Highway in Alexandria. If I am passing by the Manassas location, I MAY stop in, If I am in the mood. I would drive out of my way to get donuts from the Alexandria store. They are that much more worth it for the following reasons.
Manassas has donuts that are obviously cheaply made. The hole in the center has a diameter that is much larger than is necessary. I grew up on Krispy Kreme donut, and I have never seen a donut that looks more like just a large onion ring than these do. The donuts that come from their counterpart in Alexandria are much more substantial. The Manassas store also needs a new machine to create their donuts. Not being a frequent customer, I have still had the displeasure of visiting on at least three different occasions when the machine has been broken. The "hot donuts" now time is their most marketable thing. Yet on Saturday, people who arrived around 8:00 a.m. were treated to associates telling them that there would be no hot donuts or any glazed donuts at all until after 11:00 a.m. because the machine was broken, again. Anyone who bothered to glance around the store would have seen at least 50 to 100 boxes piled up of donuts waiting for someone to pick them up. Chances are these boxes were filled with glazed donuts waiting for some school or other organization to pick them up for some type of fundraiser. THIS is the priority for this store; schools and fundraising organizations- not the hardworking parents who come in on Saturday mornings with their children looking forward to a hot donut treat on the only day that they have time to...
