On Saturday, August 21.2021, my companion and I went to Ogles Trading Post to discuss the possibility of bulk buys for items such as lawnmowers and hand held tools (skill saws, drills, etc.) We met with Kraig, the owner, concerning our sizable purchase & explained what we were looking to buy. We listened as he extensively discussed the in's and out's of liquidation purchases including the possibility of "junk" items. We told him we were prepared for some "junk" but didn't want that to be the bulk of our purchase. He said he never really got over 20% and proceeded to pull items from the boxes to demonstrate their value. We said again we wanted tools and he said that there would be tools in the boxes we were looking at. Since he is a a Pastor, we stupidly took him at his word plus we couldn't really see inside the boxes due to the limited area and lighting in the warehouse. We agreed on 15 pallets plus 2 that he threw in because he knew those were mostly "junk" (his words) but thought we might find something of use in them. When we got the pallets home and began a closer inspection, we found that ALL the pallets contained mostly junk such as door knobs, unusable shop vacs, and other miscellaneous items that we could sell but would NOT recoup the large investment we made with him (over 10 grand) much less make a profit. In other words, our purchase was more like 80% junk and missing were the workable tools that he claimed to be included in the bottom of said boxes. In fact, it looked as if all the pallets had been gone through before hand and the marketable items were poached and replaced with the "junk". We trusted this man because of his church affiliation, however we feel that trust was misplaced. We have since located a new supplier who can give us what we really asked for and has better customer service along with better prices. Do we shoulder some of the blame? DEFINITELY!...but we feel we should warn buyers about purchasing from this company on blind faith and for them to MAKE SURE to investigate their boxes--not just take his word for it. There are other distributors, including the one we decided to go with to try and recoup some of our loses, around Atlanta. We wish we had done better research and been more selective on...
