Went there to put an outfit together for an event. As I was putting the outfit together, one of the sylists kept asking if I was sure if it was in my budget, if I knew what things cost, and that she "wasn't sure if I could...", "I'm not sure if you can..." never daring to say 'afford'. I knew where I was, so just I smiled and said it was fine. Not my first time experiencing prejudice at a store; yes I'm a brown and black man. I was just there to get my outfit planned, not to lecture someone, I kindly said, yes i understood it was a high-end shop and once I told her my budget was 3.5k, she stopped asking and put the outfits I wanted together for a picture. She made some bad suggestions (including a bright orange shirt with a black jacket when I asked for burgundy) and I, in a hurry to put a pallet together just wanted ideas to send to my team...I asked for a card to return with my stylist the next day. As I reached for it, the other blond stylist waited until my hand was extended, and, instead of handing it to me, THREW THE CARD on the counter as she shot a bratty look at me. At first I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt, trying to explain that she was being playful, but with literally 2 seconds of thought I couldnt let go how clear they wanted to make me feel like I was unwelcome, and the gesture of tossing a card was extremely disrespectful and a disgusting way to treat customers. In what world is tossing a card on a counter, when someones reaching for it okay? Just gross. Gonna tell my friends and clients to not go to this place if they have any self-respect. If they cater to wealthy people, they obviously dont know how, unless it comes wrapped in a cardigan and boat shoes. Hilarious and disgusted, coming from middle aged women working at a clothing...
