This quaint, incredibly walkable area of Manhattan Beach is host to a wide range of stores, restaurants, and government facilities (e.g. library, police department, etc.). Stores range from high end to local one-offs, providing a great place to walk and shop. Restaurants are the same, you can have a beautiful dinner overlooking the ocean, or simply grab a slice of pizza. There is street parking and several parking structures (almost all is metered), however it can be busy/full on weekends. The pier is beautiful to watch the waves crash underneath, and the beach is super fun to people watch on. We saw people getting surfing lessons here, and surfers out on the water. You must stay away from water when close to pier, for it is dangerous there. We watched a kid that for too far out and was struggling and the life guard missions that occurred. It was amazing. The life guards safely brought him back in even having to manuver around the pillons. ...
