DACHA — Local services in Manhattan Beach

She has a bench outside on the public sidewalk. How was I supposed to know the city didn’t put it there. I sat at it for a minute to find a restaurant on my phone to eat at. I had biked all the way from Santa Monica on my carbon fiber road bike and I had hardly eaten all day and felt like I was about to faint. The owner of this establishment came out and started yelling at me for sitting on her bench and something about a sign. Well the sign on the bench is upside down and unreadable. I could make out the word “bear”🐻 and I hadn’t seen any bears in the area near the beach so I was confused. Maybe she meant it can’t bare weight. Confusing nonetheless. If she doesn’t want people to sit on her bench maybe she shouldn’t put it on the public sidewalk. I hope she’s aware of laws around attractive nuisances, especially when they are on public sidewalks.
