If you're in the Manhattan area and looking for a gym that meets and exceeds high expectations, The Foundation 24-Hour Gym is an absolute must. From the moment you walk in, the welcoming atmosphere sets it apart—not just from the friendly staff, but also from the incredible community of members who make every workout a positive experience. I have yet to have a conversation in this gym that didn’t end in a smile or a laugh, which speaks volumes about what The Foundation truly represents.
The gym itself is immaculately maintained, with a clear focus on cleanliness and equipment upkeep, which is always appreciated. But beyond the physical space, what really makes The Foundation special is its faith-based culture. Every Thursday, Pastor Barry from University Christian Church leads a Bible study at the gym—an amazing opportunity to grow spiritually while also building connections with other like-minded members.
This culture is reflected from the top down, especially in the gym’s owner, Bill, who is often seen working out in the mornings and afternoons. He’s always happy to offer advice on form or suggest new exercises (if requested), making him a great resource for anyone looking to take their training to the next level.
As a K-State student who started out at the rec center—where long wait times and a “headphones in, keep to yourself” mentality are the norm—switching to The Foundation was a culture shock in the best way possible. Ironically, I actually spend more time here per workout than I did at the rec, but that’s by choice—catching up with friends, meeting new people, and truly enjoying the gym experience. Plus, they offer a discounted semester pass for students, so you don’t have to worry about paying for a membership when you’re away.
If you’re looking to level up your training in a gym that feels like home, this is the place. Get in now—you...
Read moreAs a powerlifter, I have trained at strength facilities in Montana, California, Kansas, and at over 10 facilities Florida. The Foundation exceeds my boujee expectations, it has added more quality equipment in the year and half that I have been here than any other gym I’ve been a member of (which says a lot). Additionally, after four years off from competing, I had my first prep not being on a team, and I wouldn’t have been able to comeback, add over 100 pounds to my total, set and break my own state deadlift record, without the amazing staff and fellow lifters here. Post competition, I continued my weight loss journey and lost 40lbs and maintained my strength. If you’re afraid of joining strength based gyms, I assure you the bigger and stronger the members are here the nicer and more helpful they are, we (being just me) get grouchy if you squat or Olympic lift with a blue taped...
Read moreHonest review as someone whos been to a few different private gyms. If I was more into the competition aspect of bodybuilding, Id have to remove one star due to the posing room having only one mirror, but Im not concerned with that, so 5 stars. Equipment is all high quality such as rouge or hammer strength, and most if not all is in almost brand new condition. Community is wonderful from what ive seen, everyone is welcoming, encouraging, and ready to talk if you want to. Range of equipment is unmatched, about anything you can think of from bodybuilding to powerlifting, even a bag for boxing/kicking and a mat for jiu-jitsu or grappling. Prices are also very affordable with one time free day pass, as well as a 3 day, 7 day, and monthly membership options. Wonderful gym, staff, and community, highly...
