Big 5 Sporting Goods — Local services in Manteca

So-So service in the store area. Not one smile or a cordial "how can I help you Sir". Just a "Ya let me check in the back" and a "here you go" when they hand you the shoes. We get to the counter and I show them the picture of the coupon I took from home. Coupon also says "show barcode to cashier in store" above the barcode. They said they would not accept barcode without a date on it. It did not say that on my email ad. He would not even scan the barcode to verify if authentic or not. He even called the Sup/Manager over to look at it. She said "No". I have dealt with Sup a few time in the past. She has the wrong demeanor for Sup/Manager. Maybe thats where the employees get their attitude from. I am sure a simple scan would have verify the coupons validity. I have used their coupons many times before with no issues. This was only a $5 coupon. Not THAT big of a deal. But this is the last time. I have had many issues at this location. DONT spend your money at Manteca Big 5. Go to Tracy, Modesto....anywhere but Manteca Big 5. Terrible customer...

I do enjoy coming here. They always have a pretty good selection but with the whole world being wonky, they dropped down in supplies and what-not. Either way, the ladies over there are always cool and are a big help.

I went by and purchased a sleeping bag for some camping trips coming up. The bag is really heavy duty. I did spend a bit for it getting shocked with the price. (Obviously on the inside lol) Showing a slight bit of pain from the price, I snagged it up. I'm really glad I did! There are a few things I would recommend here and I'm not sure if it is just a big 5 thing or a brands thing. I'd recommend this store for great customer service. And I'd recommend the brands I purchase from there. Under Armor (Which can be at a few other places.)

I would like to see some more camping stuff in store but I do understand it isn't a camping store. So take that with a grain of salt when shopping for camping gear.

This is my favorite Big 5, I am glad that I have this store in my neighborhood. They have a lot of variety of items in all the sections. The store manager Tylor is extremely helpful person. All the staff are friendly and welcoming. We got all our sports goods including tennis, fishing items, Kayaking etc from this store. I recommend this store if any one who is looking for specific items. They spend time with customers to help based on our specific needs. I wish all the stores be like this. For us it’s a pleasant trip to this...
