Edit: After having a conversation with my usual AMAZING, helpful employees and considering the years I’ve spent shopping here, wanted to give it another try. Hopefully Raley’s steps it up with customer service protocols regarding new hires. —————————— —————————— Ever since I moved here from Folsom 6 years ago, my husband and I frequently buy all of our groceries from here. We come here at LEAST 1-3 times a week. I’ve always loved coming here for the high quality produce/meat, vast variety and wonderful customer service. All in all, you get what you pay for and I absolutely do not mind spending more for higher standards in customer service. Last night was a completely different story. I came in after work to get our weekend groceries, everything was normal as per usual. The guy who rung me up was literally the rudest human I’ve dealt with at this store. EVER. The cashier, Troy, immediately gave me attitude from the moment he started ringing me up. No hello, just attitude. Then, he claimed he “couldn’t hear me” yet literally STOPPED scanning my groceries to TALK to the bagger. Okay... I thought you couldn’t hear? So unprofessional. Just literally stopped scanning to talk to the bagger about work BS. I get you don’t want to be there TROY but just ring me up so I can leave. I have never, ever encountered any employees at Raley’s who have ever been rude to me and like I said, I’ve been coming here religiously for YEARS. I’m so disappointed in the lack of customer service. If I wanted to deal with a human with poor customer service skills I would just shop at Save Mart, but given how bad last night was I would say it’s on par with Wal Marts low standards. A few months ago we decided to try Hello Fresh and I loved the convenience but missed the fantastic customer service from Raley’s. After my interaction last night, I will be sending my business back to Hello Fresh and Save Mart for other miscellaneous groceries. Read moreThe customer service is outstanding here, the employees always make you feel welcome and never make you feel guilty for asking where a product is located. Also, the bakery items taste as good as an expensive bakery, I recommend $2.99 the slice of lemon cake , the slice of opera cake, and I promise you will never taste better donuts..you must try the donuts !! The hot deki has excellent fried chicken at an affordable price, my kids get it every time we go here...the Raley's store brand products are better quality than our beloved name brands; here are a few stand outs..try the Raleys brand of bottled water, thst water is what made me a dedicated Raleys shopper, also try the Raleys brand of cheddar cheese slices, I also enjoy the Raleys chicken because it is packaged so neatly; the package doesn't tear and stays neatly in my freezer. Raleys brand white bread for $1.48 is a steal and their 100% whole what bread for $1.98 is also a steal, tastes great and is soft and has replaced my former breads that cost double the price.The Raleys produce is also top notch, fresh and best of the crop, bananas are never too ripe and green onions are on the larger side...Raleys can be expensive but if you know which products to buy you can still save money . Read moreApproximately 11/2/24: I told the checker AGAIN that I brought my own bags and handed him the bags. He still charged for 3 bags, and I had more than enough bags for my groceries. This is not the first or second time this has happened to me. If I get charged one more time for my own bags, I'm going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau about this scam. Multiply this scam out for all of their customers who bring their own bags and this scam brings in a lot of pure profit. I'm going to make this scam clear on Yelp. 11/16/24 update: still no word back from Raley's customer service and today I was charged for my own grocery bag AGAIN! Review your receipt BEFORE you leave and make them refund the money they scammed out of you right then in front of the other customers. If this happens company wide, it adds up to a pretty large amount of money over time and it costs Raley's nothing besides bad customer relations with those few who catch the illegal charge.
