After living at Tidewater Apartments for a full year, I’ve encountered both positive aspects and significant drawbacks. Here’s a breakdown of my experience:
Pros: New Construction: The apartment complex is newly built, meaning everything is modern and generally in working order. I didn’t encounter any major issues with the facilities during my stay.
Dog-Friendly: Tidewater is a great place for pet owners. The area is extremely dog-friendly, and the amenities provided for pets are solid, making it a convenient and enjoyable place for anyone with a dog.
Quiet Environment: As someone who worked night shifts and needed to sleep during the day, I found the apartment to be fairly quiet. I was rarely disturbed by neighbors, which was a huge plus.
Cons: Hidden Costs: While the base rent might seem reasonable, expect to pay at least an extra $100 per month in unexpected bills. This came as a shock and significantly increased my overall monthly expenses.
Garbage bill: Despite living alone and producing minimal trash (around 5 bags a month), I was charged over $100+ for garbage collection multiple times. The leasing office promised a $50 reimbursement for the overcharges, but I never received it. I am assuming that the monthly garbage cost is paid for collectively by all residents however this leads to large changes in the average cost and if you live alone expect to be paying a large amount relative to use.
Maintenance and Reimbursement Issues: When my refrigerator broke over the weekend, I lost about $100 in groceries. I was told I’d be reimbursed for the loss, but that never happened. The slow maintenance response was due to a lack of parts which is fair however the lack of follow-through regarding reimbursement was frustrating.
Security Deposit Problems: Despite leaving my apartment in good condition with minimal wear and tear, I was charged $200 for cleaning and $250 for painting when I moved out. Even though I made small repairs myself and filed only one maintenance request during my stay, I ended up owing $60 on top of losing my entire...

Her apartment is awesome, Both washer & dryer come with the apartment, walk in closets, spacious bathrooms and bedrooms. If I ever move back to this area without finding a house ready and available, you bet I'd consider this apartment complex out of all other...
Read moreI needed help with washer not turning on properly within the 1st day of moving in so I called Maintenance but they didnt pick up so I assumed they were busy. However I then called General Office and Mary picked up saying usually Maintenance is on the weekdays and unfortunately that day was the weekend which is why they couldn't be reached but she'll attempt to reach out to them herself. Long story short, Mary went the extra mile to call me back and try out different methods to give instructions to fix the washer and it seemed that we exhausted every method. We hang up the call and I get a call back just a while later and she says that maintenance is on the way the same day! She went the extra mile in reaching out to maintenance so I immediately knew that Tidewater Landing Apartments does not play around and that they really do look out for...
