Strand Ace Hardware-Manteca — Local services in Manteca

This store is truly the place that's a helpful hardware store!! My shower/ tub faucet had been leaking for a few weeks and when a full non stop stream of water was pouring out in the off position, I had to do something. So, I googled a picture of my faucet(water streaming out of it) and set out to fix the problem myself. Google said I didn't necessarily need a plumber. I didn't have plumber repair money so I was glad this was a diy job. 5 or 6 diy videos later I was shutting off my water main and taking off the old part. I walked into Manteca Ace Hardware with about 10 mins to closing time. I was greeted right at the door by a friendly young man(I think his name is James?) I quickly explained my situation and we walked right over to the plumbing aisle. He went right to the Delta cartridges and matched my old one to the new one I needed. Then I saw the price of the new cartridge! $49.92 + tax.!! I had about $27 on my card so I called my daughter to send me more, we were both trying to move money around so I could get this much needed part. That's when James asked me if he could by the part for me! I didn't know what to say...or even hiw to feel about this. I said yes, yes you can, and asked him if I could hug him while I was thanking him over and over! I have never had a store employee or manager ask me if they could by a $50 part for me! I left the store feeling so good about the whole experience! It just made me smile for the rest of the night!! Thank you again Ace Hardware. When I got home and tried to put the cartridge in...it was too long! Sh*^!#@! I didn't want to, but the next evening I brought the cartridge back into the store and of course James wasn't there. I went to the plumbing aisle, cause I now knew right where to go, and I found the shorter cartridge...for $69.99! I then brought it to the register ready to pay the hopefully $20 difference and exchange the part. We'll, it was a $27.50 difference and my heart just sank! I told Logan, the young man helping me about how I got the first part and he looked at me and smiled and said " you are blessed again" he gave me a receipt and the part. I couldn't even believe that this store and its employees were gonna give me the part that costs $27 more for free! Logan told me as I was leaving that they were there for our community. I thanked him and once again left feeling more blessed by this stores kindness and genuine commitment to our community! The part is perfect!! No more leaking or stream of water, not even a drip! Thank you for reminding me of the great community I am a part of...

6/9/25 Did business with Orchard Supply in town for years and really missed them when the company folded. However, here we are years later and we are so thankful to God that Strand Ace Hardware expanded into Manteca.

Strand's Manteca has a fine selection of merchandise well laid out within the store. Plus store management and staff are extremely courteous and helpful.

Today's purchase adventure was tackled by Ann, the Store Manager. Ann is absolutely the nicest and most professional retailer I've ever met and believe me, I've known and worked with many !

I was running into problems attempting to make an Ace Hardware online purchase. The attempts involved applying two gift cards are partial payments toward the cost of the item with the small remaining balance completed by using my Visa credit card. After extensive effort, research and time, Ann was able to complete the purchase as referenced. I doubt any other store manager would have gone to such great lengths to make a $130.00 sale.

In addition, Hugo located and retrieved the boxed item from the warehouse. Courteously, he even loaded the large box into my car without any damages whatsoever !

Strand's Manteca staff has repeatedly demonstrated how important their customers are. Their product knowledge, advise and suggestions are the best in the business. I complement Strand's Manteca for their hiring and training of such fine personnel. Although I rarely enjoy shopping, the exceptions are when I visit this store.

In conclusion, I'd like to address two issues needing improvement in reference to Ace Hardware's existing purchase procedures : Ace Hardward's individual stores should be able to price match Ace Hardware's online prices. Ace Hardware price matches competitor stores prices (with certain restrictions), so why not between the Ace website and Ace's own stores ? Ace Hardware's website's computer system needs reprogramming. Instead of being difficult, it should be easy for customers to use multiple gift cards to apply toward partial payments. Then the remaining online purchase balance can be paid by a customer's personal credit/debit card or by...

The Best hardware store in town, I am in that store every week or every other week for something. The staff is so helpful. From the manager James on down to Ann who was promoted to Assistant manager from the garden apartment they set the example for the staff out on the floor, in the various departments. Even the cashier , knows how to get your app back to work , so you can benefit from the weekly and monthly savings. They are there to help the shoppers learn to understand that it is worth shopping at Ace hardware in Manteca for everything you need. They are knowledgeable and take pride in their store. Just go in that store , you get help there. This is not a store where they let the plants die, may be they are a little more pricey compared to the Home Depot, but these people dont just work there. They know their stuff. I have been shopping there since they opened that store, and employees like Karen, she is capable of working the store whereever she is placed, from the garden to the tools to step in as the cashier.
