Ross Dress for Less — Local services in Maplewood

So many things wrong with this location so I’ll name them in no particular order

Manager filed police report and gave the most vague description of the “theifs” said “they were blackmen and they were shorter than me and I am six feet tall”. This manager is five foot two max. It was so strange that the officer requested that she personally put it in writing and then sign, just to be correct.

Cashier helping me was rude. One of the items I was purchasing was a pack of 4 and it only had 3. I asked if they could give me 25% off (hopefully this is obvious why) and she said “I am only allowed to offer 10%” i said no problem, could a manager perhaps override it? The 25% just makes sense considering the circumstance. The manager was standing there next to her and instead of saying “yes” or “no” she proceeded to ask the next person in line to join her at a different counter to check out.

Store merchandise was in a disarray i thought it was going out of business.

3 employees, 1 was stocking, 1 was on register, 1 manager busy with the police, and over 40 customers in the store.

Website says they close at 930 however they are open til 11.

I’m normally not the type to be so analytical and maybe the other issues wouldn’t have been so much of a concern, but with the current state of racial tension in our community giving such a broad description of blackmen that may or may not have committed a crime is very troubling. Clothed more cost effectively. I give you permission to use if you retire the dress for less. I suppose the current motto rolls of the tongue better. And you know what else is better! Filling up an entire cart with 13 dollar pants , 6 dollar shirts and 15 dollar shoes. Not to mention blankets and pillows a plenty. Kitchen gadgets galore! But I want more! That's why I come to Ross. I bought a bath mat, a gold turtle, dress shoes, dress pants, a soft lavender sweater,shampoo, socks, another gold thing, underwearz and some nerds clusters last time I was there. Next time I come I will look for an airplane pillow ( if you're reading this and see one hide it in the curtain area next to the rods! for ya gurl!) The prices have stayed the same since I was just a poor high schooler wanting to buy name brands at a Walmart price. Socks are more expensive at Walmart ( you're welcome) I bought a chair there once. Still sit on it till this day. The price was right but Bob barker didn't call me down. I feel like I win the showcase showdown every Ross excursion. Feeling sad....Ross. I bought a bag from here before I went out of town for 2 weeks. By the second day of using it, it began tearing by the handles. I then tried to be very careful and not overuse it but because I was out of town and it was the only bag I had, I still had use it and wait to return when I got back.

When trying to return today, they rejected it saying that they don’t know if it just ripped from me using it or putting too much weight in it. I explained that it ripped the second day I used it and had nothing to do with weight as I had barely anything in it.

Manager says that if I would’ve returned it within the first week of getting it then they might have accepted it, but again I made very clear to them that I was out of town for two weeks and couldn’t return it until now. They didn’t even offer store credit or any other options, just rejected the return.

Very unhappy with the customer service here, they spoke down to me and wouldn’t even let me finish my sentences when trying to explain that the bag ripping was from weak handles, not from me...
