I have been going to Gilreath Dentistry for a few years and was happy with the care, until I was told that Invisalign would fix both my bite and TMJ problems, and that Dr. Gilreath is the best. In fact, there are signs inside and outside his office, as well as online, about being the best for Invisalign in Georgia. In the years I have been going to the office I have never met him. Since I trusted the doctor who had been taking care of me and also, my research, I decided to go ahead with the treatment. After scanning, I only received a short video from Dr. Gilreath about my treatment. I requested seeing him in person before the start of treatment. At the appointment, I told him that I have been through a lot of health challenges, and if this is not going to help I do not want to proceed. I was assured that my life would be renewed.
The first few months went by without any problems. After 6 months my problems started. I was having uncontrollable spasms and therefore biting my cheeks and tongue. I called the office and was told he is out of the country and no one else can help. I saw him upon his return and he cut down the lower teeth trays, at this point the upper teeth were completed. He told me to call him in ten days to see how I was doing. I called and was told he is out of town. I explained my problems and was told they would get back with me after talking with him. When they called me back I was told āTO TOUGH IT UPā. I was given an appointment to see him in about two weeks. When he saw the huge ulcer on my cheek due to the biting, I was told that there was nothing more he could do. My attachments were taken off by him and then he grind down a few of my teeth saying this will help my bite! The grinding has caused my teeth to slide over each other and has made eating even more difficult. He referred me to an oral surgeon for the removal of the ulcer. Since then I had to have another surgery this time on my tongue for the same reason. Both my bite and my TMJ have gotten so much worse due to his invisalign treatment. I am in constant pain and have a difficult time speaking and eating. I am going to PT twice a week to help lessen my pain and spasms. About two months ago I wrote a letter and handed it to the office to give to Dr. Gilreath, letting him know about my pain and my worsened bite. I have not heard anything back from him...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'm a coward, with a capital C, and must have trust in any medical professional before I let them treat me. I've let my oral care go for over a decade, never finding the right fit for me, until, I had to find someone because of other medical issues, I needed the right fit, right now! After researching online, I hoped Gilreath Family Dentistry would be what I needed. From setting the appointment on the phone, filling out paperwork easily, online, to walking with shaky legs, nerves tingling, into the office,I was greeted sincerely and warmly. No usual dental office smells or sounds. I was listened to as I explained my own foolishness in disregarding my dental care, not judged, no admonishment, just understanding, and clear simple explanations of what I was doing all through the initial exam process.I was reassured, I was not condescended to, I was not cajoled, I was treated with care, empathy and respect and like the intelii 66 year old that I really am. A plan was proposed for my care and my anxiety. I was given a cost breakdown. I made a return appointment and later that afternoon I was called with an opportunity to take advantage of cancellation, which would allow me to start treatment earlier than had been initially planned. I asked several questions that I had not remembered to ask before I left the office, and was given a phone call by the hygienist who would be working with me who helped me through the questions and answers with clear concise information and a nice sound to her voice that held sincerity and honesty. I am ready to pursue my dental health, and I know when I'm done I will walk out with a restored smile as well as faith in this dental office. I'm doing this review right now, without having done anything except an initial comprehensive exam, a treatment plan,a financial explanation and earlier appointment time offered, as well as a phone call from a hygienist to clear some questions for me, all this because in just a few hours trust was established, and that to me is important. Thank you for a first impression that has already made a...
