I would give this place two and a half stars. The staff is courteous and attentive. It's not a place that you're going to see on Diners, Dives and Drive Inns.
The food her is Southern food as if your momma made it and I do mean it looks like you went to someone es house to eat. The not so good is, it's just that and the person's house just is that good of a cook.
I really wanted to like this place as a little hole in the great home made style Southern Dive. The food, taste and quality is just so so
I ordered the Fried Chicken plate (dark meat) and the crust was very thin barely hanging on to the meat. The chicken had NO seasoning AT ALL, small portions. It does come with two sides. I chose the Mac and Cheese and, Baked Beans.
The Mac & Cheese Failed miserably and the Baked Beans was actually pretty good. Mac and Cheese looked under cooked and the cheese was just runny. No taste, No anything
I was really dissapointed and felt the place is just a tad bit under average. It has potential and a great location which is probably why the place is still surviving.
I wouldn't recommend going, even though the price is pretty cheap. My plate was 10.99 with two sides not bad at all on the wallet. Just the food was pretty below average for a southern homestyle place you would expect better seasoning and bigger portions.
Also, I had to put salt on Everything to give it...
Read moreI have always enjoyed coming here for a home style meal, and so when we planned a party, I decided to give them a shot for catering the BBQ. Let me just tell you all that while everything is pretty good there, the food they did for us was incredible. We had smoked brisket, pork and chicken along with slaw, baked beans, fried okra, and the absolute best Mac and cheese I swear I have ever had. They also did banana pudding that was to die for. The smoked brisket was tender and juicy and the chicken was super moist and fall off the bone tender. The pork was good but the brisket was undeniably the best I’ve ever had. And trust me on that because I have been to smoke house restaurants from one end of this country to the other including Texas where they are known for their smoked beef. This was hands down the absolute best. All my guests went back for second and many even for third helpings. No one can stop talking about our party and how good the food was. If you haven’t tried this place, GO. Get the smoked brisket if they have it. You won’t be disappointed. The people that work there are all so nice. The servers, cooks, staff and owners have all been amazing every time I’ve been in there. These are nice folk and we...
Read moreI have a doctor nearby and drive by here just about weekly now after appointments. We were looking for something different & new for dinner and decided to give it a shot. Their staff is probably the best thing about this place. They are super kind and grateful to each guest for the business.
I came towards the end of the night for take out and they got in the weeds due to some new employees. One of our 3 items got missed in the initial cooking round and so the 2 completed plates sat on the counter getting cold for 20 or more minutes while waiting on the 3rd item. That was a bit frustrating. With all of the take out these days due to COVID, many good restaurants have pivoted and added warming stations to keep to go orders warm.
The southern fried chicken was good. It wasn’t amazing but it was definitely good. The dark meat was moist and the white meat was a tad dry. My husband feels it is overpriced, however, for what it is, even with increased COVID/supply chain pricing. The broccoli casserole was my favorite side, with green beans and mac and cheese coming in second. We had 2 slices of key lime pie which were decent - a little too tart for my preference but my husband liked it. We will be back and will try some...
