Spent thousands of dollars for a small dining room table and 4 chairs. Chairs were custom order with expensive fabric. Chairs finished in milk white that had yellow stains and dirt at the top of the back. Salesperson was to take pictures required she says by customer service. She made an appointment for 10 days after I spoke to her and didn't show. She said the appointment was 17 days later. My wife heard the conversation and said "Hanna the salesperson" was lying. Hanna says pictures must be taken first before someone from service will come out to inspect the problem. Ridiculous!! After the head of consumer relations got involved we were offered Black chairs because milk white was discontinued. Ok so we don't get what we ordered. Now an issue with the dining room table that had a small chip in the wood on the leg caused by the delivery people. Since we have a guarantee plus purchased an extended warranty at additional cost with Guardsman sold to us by Ethan Allen. Today Guardsman informed us that they will not cover the claim. This gets worse by the minute.
Customer service head, Algernon Hayes wanted to refinish our chairs. We picked out a paint color and then Al said Ethan Allen would not do the trucking to get the chairs to their service department. But he would order new chairs for us. Now this is in May 2021 and now tells us white milk finish is no longer available and we have to order them in BLACK. Wife was besides herself. So we had no other choice. The order was placed in May 2021. Surprisingly I received a phone call from what she said her position was Manager of Retail Stores in the area and knew of our problem and more importantly was upset by my Google Review. She asked me to take it down because our issue will be resolved. I was shocked at the request and didn't believe her. So now we wait for the new chairs in a color that will not go in our kitchen.
Fast forward to late November, chairs are in but cushions are still backordered. I decided to call the Marlboro store (where we bought everything) and speak to the manager. Yolanda after reading the computer file was sympathetic to our experience and would help us anyway she could. Refreshing! I asked about the head of customer service (Algernon Hayes) and was told he was no longer with the company as well as the lady that described her position as Manager of Retail Stores plus the manager of the Marlboro store. Clean house! Why? Needless to say Yolanda picked up the gauntlet and didn't stop until the wrong color chairs and cushions were delivered...
Read moreHorrible customer service after purchasing a very expensive and what I thought would be a high quality dining room table! After having my brand-new Cameron extension dining room table in my house for 4 days, I dusted the table with a NEW soft, microfiber cloth per the instructions of Ethan Allen. The cloth left scratch marks on the table. I immediately contacted Ethan Allen and was told they would return my call later that day. A FEW days later, I received a call from our Sales rep, at the Marlboro location. She took our info and photos and said she would get back to us ASAP. I once again did not hear from Ethan Allen for OVER a week. When she responded, Katharine left me a voice mail saying there was nothing they could do about the table, that is was “every day use” and that I should not use a “cloth with glass shards” to dust my table. Not sure what planet this woman is on, but I CLEARLY did not use a cloth that had broken glass in it to dust my brand-new table. It was offensive to even say it! I have the voice mail if anyone would like to hear it. A new table should NOT receive scratches from using a soft cloth for light dusting. Not only do I think the table was not properly cured and should be fixed, but I was completely disappointed with the customer service I received after spending thousands of dollars on furniture from what I had thought was a reputable establishment. I would like to speak to someone about this immediately, and I would like to have the table looked at and fixed under...
Read moreThe service we received from the Englishtown Ethan Allen (EA) was exceptional, especially David and Terrance. We placed an order for several pieces to update our family room (sectional couch, coffee table, side tables and rug) in February with Erica. We found out Erica had left EA and shocked that no one informed us. But I have to say, the staff at EA quickly put us at ease and worked with us to ensure we are updated with our order. In April, we received our sectional couch and there was a very large puncture hole in the back of the corner piece of the sectional couch. Phone calls to EA was placed to remedy this. It was decided that a new couch will be order and not just the corner piece of the sectional where the hole is. The second couch arrived and again, another puncture hole was discovered in the back of the couch. EA assured us that this will be rectified but they needed to order fabric from the same lot. Fabric arrived late September, technician was sent to our home to fix the hole and EA made us whole.
Thank you David Amuso for everything, your open communication and thorough updates are appreciated. You never once made us feel that the issue was not going to be resolved. It just took time and patience from everyone involved. We've been Ethan Allen customer for almost 30 years, we have had furniture for both our homes and not once have we been unsatisfied with the products and/or...
