Southbridge Mall — Local services in Mason City

Don't bother visiting.

1. The tile is outdated and not well kept with a large hole in the women's bathroom wall visible.
2. The mall's parking lot has multiple potholes and large cracks in the cement.
3. Cafeteria tables are too small with your food likely to spill onto the dirty looking floor.
4. The mall's weekend visiting "vendors" are mostly MLMs (ie. multi-level marketing scams).
5. There are about 8 stores and 2 restaurants left in the whole mall, with the restaurants being the only thing worth going to.
6. Prices in the Southbridge Mall stores are higher than the surrounding competition, even the other malls in Mason City (I've been to all 4 of them).
7. Management is very rude and will ask you to leave if you sit down for 15 minutes to chill.
8. The mall was supposed to have a skywalk connected to it, but it is incomplete and unusable. It was also funded by...

Even though the mall doesn’t really have much there anymore we really still do love this place. The kids really enjoy the play area. We have been to the hockey rink and it was a great experience. It was our kids first hockey game ever and they loved it. Sad to see the pretzel maker gone from there and not open anymore. I thought they were staying open even though they put the drive thru one in up town?? We always frequent the nail place and my family has had ear piercings done at Claire’s. We like to come here and let the kids play and just stroll. The Christmas tree and the santas they had displayed at Christmas were great! The security guard Josh is really nice and super great with our boys. We really enjoy the craft shows they have up here from time to time. I hope they get some more stores in here and keep it open. We would sure hate...

Rethinking; 4/18/20 With the added ice arena came new businesses. Still not close to great but are getting better. Excellent bar/ restaurant. Stores for popcorn, pets, jewelry, warm pretzels, athletics, Mini golf, axe throwing, etc. Suppose to be activities in arena like singers, comedy, and different things. Willing to give it a try.

I think our Mall is one giant laugh. There isn't too much there. They are losing to many stores and aren't able to replace them. It is sad. Don't waste too...
