Surrounding neighborhood has many wonderful examples of FLW designs, as well as homes and commercial buildings where architects were heavily influenced by his designs. The neighborhood is absolutely beautiful (stunning fall foliage in quintessential American town) and is easily accessible on foot and is primarily handicap accessible (although there are some gradual hills). Unfortunately, the home closed just as we arrived, however, the museum and gift shop were open. The couple who were the docents for the day were just about as lovely as complete strangers can be. Knowledgeable about FLW and his contemporaries, they easily answered any questions I had. The gift shop is first rate. The hospitality and customer service at this establishment were truly on another level. Experiencing such genuine care and attention to detail was a true testament of how to keep people coming back for more. I can't wait to return and experience it...

We did not purchase tickets in advance but if we would have arrived any later we probably wouldn't have gotten into the 1:00 tour. They keep the group small because the rooms in the house are small plus you get a more personal experience. $10.00 might have been a better price, but we paid the $15 ticket price, they depend on these fees to keep the foundation going. We also bought the walking tour book and did...
