My initial reaction to your facilities was positive. The beautiful grounds and facilities were impressive; however, after talking with longtime residents and speaking recently with family members, currently living onsite, I now know things are not what they seem. You have rules with no intention of enforcing them. I ask, why? What good is a rule, if only decent individuals abide by them? What good is a rule when your solution to the problem at hand is to suggest those suffering to move on their own dime? That is not a respectful solution to your law-abiding residents. Your entire business is based on catering to the needs of your retired residents. You have made promises that your facilities are smoke-free. Yet, I know residents who cannot enjoy their balconies. And now the stench has permeated their living quarters, and may cause potential health concerns. A home should be a safe haven and your lack of rule enforcing has stripped them of their safety. Shame on you! Shame on you for not offering smokers shelters away from your buildings. Shame on you for even suggesting a move! This is ridiculous! You promise things and then have zero intention of fulfilling those promises. Stop making promises or excuses for your immoral behavior. Yes, it is immoral to promise retirees one thing, take their money, and...
Read moreI recently visited and stayed with my friends at your complex. I was pleasantly surprised how beautiful it is, how friendly the residents are, and of the many nice amenities there . I did become aware of one requirement of residents which is not being enforced. You state you're a non- smoking facility. I am a smoker, as I saw residents smoking there as well. I do not smoke in my own home. I only smoke outside. Therefore, I abided by your rules, and smoked at the roadside only. Problem is , I only met one resident joining me at the road. Smoking on your balcony, or in your apartment poses health risks for many residents. I know you want happy residents, and I know you want to retain their revenues. May I pose two easy solutions: Designate a section of apartments where smoking is allowed outside of the facility, in that area. Designate multiple areas around the whole facility for smoking. It would even be a great gesture to provide a covered gazebo, or similar structure, for inclement weather. You have the space. By accommodating all residents, it would make for happier residents, and managing much easier. I hope to see a change in this policy upon my next visit...or I...
Read moreWhen my mom visited her friends in April, she enjoyed her time, but there was a huge issue. The neighbors directly below her friend’s apartment were smoking a lot. This smoke from cigarettes was so bad, they could not enjoy the patio, and it permeated throughout their apartment. We recently spoke with her friends and they have informed us that management is not helping them, not talking to the residents who are smoking. Plus the smokers have a flag hanging from their patio that is breaking the bills as well and so many plants and a bright light so as to not get caught smoking. My mom’s friends are having major health issues due to this horrible smoke and are not getting any help from management. The smokers need to go and the residents following the rules get to stay. That is what rules are for. Stop the smokers and help the residents who have asking nicely for...
