The menu on google doesn't match the current menu in person but the server allowed me to order the fried fish even though it was no longer on the menu. I was pleased since that was what I had come for. It was Saturday night at 7 pm and I was the only person there. I started to second guess coming at all but my order was in and it was too late to change my mind. I started with the yuca ball with cheese. They were $12 for 4 small 1 inch balls. They were flavorless and boring and ridiculously overpriced. The fish came out and looked and smelled delish. I recovered from the disappointment of the yuca balls and devoured the fish. It was nicely cooked and had good flavor but it was very little meat. That's fine. I don't have a huge appetite and it was yummy. My opinion improved, until... the check came. Nothing on the entire menu was over $27 and the salmon was $22 so I was expecting something in that neighborhood. Nope. They charged me $38. The fish was good but seriously! I could have had a beautiful piece of sea bass at Bonefish Grill or a proper steak at a fancy steak house for $38. Add the over priced fish to the boring $12 dough balls and I left still hungry and feeling completely ripped off. I paid the bill and left. Never to return again. I do not...
Read moreI had dinner at República for the first time tonight and it was great! 10/10 would recommend.
Service - My server was Smith, who was courteous, professional, and helpful with the menu. Initially, I was going to get oxtails with white rice and beans. Smith convinced me to get try it with mofongo and I’m so glad he did. He even brought out stewed pork for our table to try for free. It was heavenly and I’ll definitely be getting that the next time I come.
Food - Flavorful and delicious! I know that’s short and sweet but everything I ate from my plate and my families was delicious.
Atmosphere - It is a cute and quaint restaurant. Nice bar area and I liked the fall decor. I will be back to enjoy the live music and dancing.
Oh and they have parking. This is a big factor in me returning to a restaurant. Parking can be...
