Maui Hiking Safaris — Local services in Maui

We hiked with Randy on the last day of our honeymoon, and it was such a great experience. We spoke with him in advance, letting Randy know what we'd like to see and do, and he really tailored the day's activities to us. We set off around 9:30 and returned around 3 or 3:30. I don't know that I've ever met a more organized, knowledgeable, and thoughtful guide. He was ready for everything! From the moment we set off, I knew we were in good hands. And you definitely need to have an experienced guide to do and see the things we did! We went through lush forested areas, across rivers, and to waterfalls that very few people ever get to enjoy, especially tourists. Our particular hike involved a bit of climbing/walking across rocks and through water, so good shoes are a must. Ours got covered in mud because of rain, but one pass through the washing machine and they're good as new. Be prepared for the potential of bug bites--but Randy was really well stocked with spray to keep it to a minimum. I can't say enough good things about Randy!! Randy took my mom, sister and I out for the Maui Waterfall hike this past week and it was everything we were looking for in an authentic Maui hike. We didn't just want to walk down a path and call that a hike. We wanted a real hike, and to see the natural beauty of Maui, and Randy delivered! He took us through the rainforest, where we crossed water streams, jumped off a waterfall, and tried strawberry guava (very delicious).

We were a little nervous about even going on the hike in the first place because my mom recently hurt her shoulder and has very little mobility in her right arm, but Randy was AMAZING and was so patient with her and guided her every step of the way! If it were any other tour guide my mom might not have made it, but Randy is such a professional and let her hold onto him throughout the whole hike, so she never fell and always felt safe.

He is a fantastic tour guide and is so knowledgeable about Maui and its history. His tour was one of our favorite activities we did in Maui all week! We will definitely be coming back for round 2 next...

Our trip to Maui was in the planning for months. Grandma and Grandpa were taking the 5 teenage grand kids to Hawaii. One of the 3 adventures the kids chose was a hike in the forest / jungle of Maui. I found Randy "Maui Hikig Safaris" on the web with great reviews. From our initial contact on the hike selection Randy always return calls promptly and answered all question with clarity about what we could expect on the hike. For us this became a major concern because two of our grandsons had sever foot and ankle injuries that were about 70% healed at vacation time and we did not want to risk further injury. On the day Randy accessed the group capabilities and did some adjustments to ensure a safe yet rewarding hiking experience. The kids chose a hike because staying in a beach front condo on Kaanapali beach while wonderful it does not really give you the feel for a tropical Hawaii. Randy's hike did that and more.
