Terrible Experience at Paper Store I had a very unpleasant experience at the Paper Store today. As I was pulling into their parking lot, an older woman with gray hair came out of the store and started suspiciously staring at me. As soon as I got out of the car, she confronted me, asking if I was coming to the Paper Store and stating that I could only park there if I was a customer, otherwise, I needed to park elsewhere. I assured her that I was indeed going to the store, even holding a Paper Store coupon in my hand. Despite this, she went back inside and I saw her through the window, still staring at me and shaking her head, clearly assuming I was using their parking lot to visit another store. This kind of rude and accusatory behavior is unacceptable. When I mentioned this incident to the owner, she didn't seem to care and tried to justify the woman's behavior by saying that people often misuse their parking lot. This is no way to treat potential customers. I left without making a purchase and will not be returning. I highly recommend taking your business elsewhere if you want to avoid being treated with suspicion...
Read moreProfiling and disrespectful behavior. I entered the store to find a blanket for my friend and I. We were immediately met with disrespect, as we were evidently being watched from the moment that we stepped in. We then went to the section of the store that we thought would have the item that we were looking for and overheard and employee on the phone saying something along the lines of “Yes, they’re right next to me right now, they’re looking at blankets.” I could only imagine that they were calling their manager, however we were not doing anything worthy of being watched or reported. I felt as though I was being targeted and was unwelcome in this establishment. I would also like to note that this is not the first time that this has occurred. Every single time I, a Black person, enter this store, I am met with discrimination and disrespect. I urge you to do and be better, because this is...
Read moreRacial discrimination experienced. Two friends and I entered to look at stuffed animals. One member of the store immediately started hovering while we shopped and seemed unhappy with us being there. As we browsed and held onto our products the lady then went to her manager to ask us if we needed help. We said we were alright and then she continued to hover. As we continued to look the lady once again got her manager and she asked us if she wanted us to hold onto the stuffed animals before we checked out. Once again we said no. She then repeated (specifically to my black friend) that she wanted to hold onto the stuffed animal if we planned to get it. It felt very intentionally charged and made all three of us uncomfortable and...
