I flew into town from Korea and was looking for a boxing gym to workout at. As a newbie, I wanted to learn from the best, from real boxers, and in my search, everything said Maywood was the best in the area. My experience here was nothing short of amazing, from initially reaching out to Charles to set-up a 1:1 to showing up and being welcomed by everyone. It’s an old school boxing gym, and I was kind of intimidated walking in, but everyone was friendly and welcoming. Charles was super welcoming and friendly, and an awesome and patient instructor. Highly over priced for the area, the owner expects that bcuz he was a former boxer that ppl will gladly pay, that's how he serves the community, i guess, gracing us w/his ex boxness. i did a month in 2022 so idk how they price currently, but on ig they sold like they had equipement and then when you get there you're expected to have your own gloves when that's not how he was selling on ig. I tried talking to him about it, he bullied me into buying my own gloves🙄 buyer beware, that said I have women gloves on sale, bough there only used once...
