Target — Local services in McAllen

If you are a person of color , Black/Mexican/Indian or even have a slight tan BEWARE shopping at this Target next to Home Goods. Due to covid I haven’t left home & finally decided to go out and wanted to enjoy browsing and shopping . All that came to a HAULT . Meanwhile shopping my boyfriend notices workers were lurking and trying to take photos of us which I believe is against the law! They even pretended to “organize” things everywhere we went. I started to feel extremely uncomfortable and proceeded to head to pay . When I get to the register they asked for my identification and mind you I wasn’t purchasing alcohol or applying for any type of card . Discrimination is very much alive !!!!!! Mind you I paid about $400 worth of items with my well earned money ! If they thought because of the color of my skin I was going to steal they were dead wrong !This is extremely upsetting . I hope they get new employees . And teach there staff to respect customers & if they even had a slight concern they could have easily spoken to me .But decided to belittle me/follow me/ and my loved one . Thank you for this terrible experience. Way to go target...

This Target store is generally clean, and the product selection is decent and I have always had a good experience dealing with any employees. However, it’s clear that the store isn’t given the attention it deserves by headquarters, despite how busy it always seems to be. The checkout experience, in particular, is a major issue. There’s typically only one cashier working, while four self-checkout stations are available, but without any item limits. This often leads to long lines, with customers frequently having full carts of items, but no staff to assist. To make matters worse, one or two of the self-checkout stations are often out of order. It would go a long way if they either added more self-checkout stations like other locations in the area, or simply opened up more of the manned checkout lanes (they have plenty!). Cashier dropped my coupon into the conveyor belt. Had me wait 10 mins helped 3 customers then called the manager. Manager never got there so I got embarrassed cuz she had the line waiting and people were looking at me w/ anger. Told her it was ok and left. Will take me while before I decide to go back to Target. (I had made 3 prior trips for the same product and they never had it, so was ecstatic when I did find the items) For nothing because it didn't even happen. Thanks for being #1 Target!!
