EZPAWN — Local services in Memphis

I want to be 100% clear here. I've spent hundreds of dollars at this establishment and I'm very upset. My review will be as unbiased as it can be but the service today lost them a customer forever. Surely, losing one customer wont bother them and certainly this review wont, but I would be remiss if I didnt speak my mind. I entered the store as I normally do, sourced some product (3 ps3 and xbox 360 games at a price of 3 for $10 and 2 ps2 games for normally $1 a piece) and took them to the register. I sat and watched as 5 associates who helped customers leave one after another until there were only 2. Once I was called, a good 15 minutes later, I waited for 10 minutes for the associate to come back out saying she only found 3 of the 8 games. Since 2 of them were ps3 and 1 was ps2, I asked her to return the ps3 games and I would just buy the 1. She then says I would have to pay $5 bucks for a game that's 20 years old. I asked about the pricing structure considering they sell ps3 games for $3 a piece. Her response, well it's because it's a sale price. My response to that was that this "sale" had been going on for 2 years. After haggling, she told me that my price was final. I then asked to speak to the district manager who just happened to be there that day. After a brisk, 5 minute talk, I understood the futility of my words and expressed to him that I wasted gas, time, money, and my entire lunch break from work in which I was late returning from, to leave empty handed. He had only the expression that, "this was not their intention", to give me. This entire situation is sorry, and I am very disappointed. One things for sure..... I will never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, EVER show up there again. I'm sure a mosquito bite will affect them more than this review, but I feel as if I dont matter. Unfortunately, theres no feeling...

The EZ Pawn location @ 5286 Winchester Rd. is detrimental to the African american community in which it is established within. They are cupable to the thefts in the area because they are knowingly accepting stolen goods from one particular thief who has stolen lawn equipment from residents in the Parkway Village area. Within 45 minutes of items being stolen from my home, I tracked it to this location. Showed the manager the Ring footage with the thief and my lawn equipment. She verified we had just missed him pawning/selling it to them by 10 minutes. There's the verification. She stated he comes in "all the time." So, they know what he is doing to innocent, hardworking people in our community. You would think as a so call "reputable" business they would give us our itmes back but they didn't. Call MPD immediately. When they showed up, the manager refused to give the person information or video evidence showing the person, and also acted like she couldn't find it in the back without the serial number. That's a lie because you just placed it in the back not even a hour ago. It's all a scam because they know he stealing all the merchandise he bringing in. They gave him few dollars and know he not coming back to get it and then resell for...

This place and its employees are very unprofessional. This is my first experience pawning anything and it was not a good one. I pawned a Very expensive guitar worth $700. They gave me $300 which was good. Well, they told me the $100 guitar case wouldn’t make a difference in the money that they would pay me for it. I was told I could take it with me and get the same $300. So of course, I did. I had until 2/29/20 to come and get it with a fee.

Well, I decided to go ahead and go get it today on Valentine’s Day and I wasn’t aware that I had to have cash to get it back. (Nobody told me this when I dropped it off)

I shoot in a line of three people for 30 minutes to be told I had to go get cash when I finally made it. I left and got cash, came back, waited another 30 minutes, paid, waited another 20 minutes because they couldn’t find my $700 dollar guitar.

When they finally brought it to me, the back of it is completely scratched up. Down to the wood. This guitar has a custom paint job.

When I pointed it out they told me that it was my OWN fault for not leaving the case!! They will not do anything about it.
