American Deli — Restaurant in Memphis

I eat at American Deli very often at the Shelby Drive/ Riverdale location and have zero complaints. As a matter of fact, I’ve had nothing but excellent service and delicious food any time I’ve gone there. However, over the last couple of weeks I have been working at Mendenhall and Winchester area. I have gone to American Deli on Mendenhall three times and each time the service at the drive thru has been horrible. The lady taking orders is rude and doesn’t want to listen. The second time we went, they gave a us about 10 fries with our combo. Today’s visit, I just drove off. I told the lady I wanted a cheeseburger with lettuce and mayo only. She asked if I wanted a comb I said no Ma’am. She said do you want cheese? I said yes, a cheese burger with lettuce and mayo only. She said is that all? I said no I also, she interrupted me and gave me a total for my order. I said I’m not done ordering. She said go ahead. I said, ya know what, just cancel that order and drive off. Never NEVER EVER will I go back to the Mendenhall location. They need new management to get those...

I LOVE the food, but there must be a disgrungled employee to serve burnt bread on the steak sub like that! I thought someone's house was on fire, I kept smelling the burn, No Kidding, until I arrived at my destination and looked at this sandwich! I tried to call several times to speak to a Manager, to no avail, no one answered! This could have been resolved if someone had only answered the phone!! I actually met the owner once, didn't know she was the owner, a very sweet young lady! Young lady if you have someone that careless, who's representing your store in that manner, 'YOU' 'FIRE THEM'! It was so burnt I could only eat the inside, no lie! You need to find out who did this hon. I would otherwise (of course) give you a 5+. And to the person who did this, 'u' need to quit! There are too many other people who would do right and...

If you say this is good food.... you don’t know good food.... it’s not fresh, when it sits out all day and change colors, you must be use to eating spoiled food... when I was there it was awful... I saw stuff that made me leave...owner.... did you ever fix the toilet in the men’s restroom where the cooks had to go... now tell me they washed anything!!!! You only came for the money.... I noticed your laughter when told of different issues, I still have the photos..... those philly steaks were brown meat with some red in it, like in going bad.. you can smell it....it’s shameful.... people ask them to show you the meat before putting it on the grill....owner you just don’t care cause it’s only blacks coming...
