Today’s experience at Sonic was beyond frustrating. I placed an online order — so if something was wrong, I would’ve taken accountability. But when I received my food, the sandwich had both tomatoes and ketchup, which I had specifically removed. Okay, fine — mistakes happen. They remade it.
Then I got to the light and opened my drink… they gave me a cherry slush when I ordered watermelon. I turned back around and went inside just for them to casually say, “Yeah, we’re out of watermelon.” No one called, no one told me — they just gave me whatever they felt like. I should’ve been asked if I wanted something else.
I called and asked to speak with a manager, thinking maybe it would be handled professionally. It wasn’t. Nothing was resolved. They asked me what flavor I wanted instead, and I said grape and cranberry. The young lady brought out a drink that tasted like straight water. I flagged someone else down, and she was laughing and joking around, not taking anything seriously. She offered to remake it and said she’d “just put more flavoring in it.” I told her, “So now I have three drinks I didn’t even want or ask for?” I asked for a water at that point because I was over it.
I was so irritated I threw the drinks in the parking lot. Not my proudest moment, but the lack of communication, care, and customer service was ridiculous. If y’all are out of something, SAY THAT. I have not received such terrible service since I was in Memphis when people visit the city they want to have a good time not deal with people who have no sense of time urgency, and like accountability. Shay did not tell the customers that sonic was cash only and because of that she would not sell us our food. Eventually I asked for the food for free since she did not tell us that it was cash only. she refused to give us the food for free, and we had to convince a server to cash app him and he used his tip money to pay for the food for us. no server should ever have to endure that on their workday. there were no signs on the terminals. There were no warnings when they greeted us. I asked her would she throw the food away because we weren’t able to pay for it and she said yes. And instead of either giving it to us for free because she would acknowledge that she was wrong she chose to prolong our stay by an extra 20 minutes. shay needs to be replaced as a manager if she is one. I feel bad for places like this where we used to go and hang out that are no longer safe because of a lack of customer...

Hmmmm ok before I could say anything she hung up. She finally showed up with my food no smile no apology or nothing. I said mam is my food cold she said ion feel it and see. Hmmmm ok you know what may I get A refund Please she snatched the bag and walked off. O went to the door n stood there she came to the door n politely slammed my receipt in my hand rolled her eyes. It’s been refunded. Smh I was looking for her name but didn’t see it. I told her this right here sweetie you have A very bad attitude n very nasty very bad customer service no response.
