Issue: Got into fish keeping when the kids walked in with a betta fish from Nana for Christmas. Was not excited about it. Got all the stuff from BigBox Pet Store and the fish wouldnât swim around the tank.
Solution: These fine people did not judge me for putting sharp fake plants in the bettas tank, they educated me on why they needed to be replaced with real plants. Joey was being a real fish, finally! And they actually had the real plants!
Why I keep coming back: the plants are STILL alive! Just popping in to take a look at whatâs new is an adventure in itself (that axolotl owns my soul) and the kids love it.
The selection is unreal. You have to go to the store to see what I mean. It gets exotic! The store is immaculate and these people are so chill and laid back.
They are HONEST. Keeping fish isnât really for the faint of heart and they will be straight forward with you if youâre having problems. You can bring some water from your tank and they will check your parameters and tell you a plan of action. The plants will probably have some snails on them because theyâre already established and thriving in a tank. This happens on almost any aquatic plant, but RO actually told me about it.
The originally unwanted fish tank is now a full fledged hobby for me. Iâve added some mates- turned it from day glo to a more natural habitat thanks to my new knowledge.
They will talk to you for as long as you want⌠I reckon if one day you just wanted to know everything about fish, they wouldnât mind teaching ya.
THANK YOU for being patient and educating me, having the store well stocked and clean, not being judgmental and honestly⌠giving the kids and I something cool to do on a rainy day. Itâs âgoing to the aquariumâ lite. đ
Photos to come, we are coming today...
Read moreWe arrived on a Sunday- he was working alone and very busy. We were looking to replace our Oringâs that passed away. We have had Orindas and Pleccos for about 5 years now and they are thriving other than the older fish that passed away. He showed us the two tiny Orindas he had there, only one of which had some color, -splotches of orange- the other was more silver and gray. We purchased our others as adults so we were unsure about these babies and asked questions of the owner. He assured us both were healthy and their color would come in later, The silver Orinda was found floating on Wednesday. We called the store today (Friday) bc my husband and I figured he may have a policy to guarantee healthy fish. The owner rudely asked why I was just calling today if it died on Wednesday, then said gruffly âbring me a water sample and Iâll test it.â Needless to say will not be...

They did not have what I was looking for but looked up what I wanted. They added the fish to their incoming order and bam 2 days later I had my angels , flag fish, snake skin barbs and I was so impressed that I had them order me some rainbow krebs.
