As one would say, spice your life like you spice your food—bold, flavorful, and unapologetic.
As I walked in I was greeted with an aroma of something you smelt as a young child. It actually distracted me from how nice of a place it is with such little room to work with. I would say that it isn't a sports inviting type of place but more of a relaxed hangout place. The young woman behind the counter greeted me and made me feel welcomed. As a advocate of spice and flavor; my cajun roots excited me to endeavor on a journey of trying the best of the best. As one who has proudly tried nearly every wing place in memphis; not saying every restaurant whom serve wings. But the one's who dare put wings as their sole purpose. I've always said "If you put wings in your name of the restaurant, then it better be good wings" not that it is assumed, but it is the most uncertain that yourvwings are good. I unfortunately do not have full documentation of my journey but I've written in many advocate groups, and reviewed in different ways the best of the best. Everyone was very pleasant to speak with. The two young gentlemen owners spoke with me and gave me assurance that it will be good. Now I ordered two flavors to see which balances would be more appealing my next visit. 5–whole mild-hot. And 5–lemon pepper hot. Along with house season fries.
Id say crinkle fries are not my best choice for fries but it's usually typical for all wing places I've tried. So I did not knock them for that. The seasoning was very nice to help balance the wings flavor. I just personally dislike crinkle fries.
The LP-Hot was very pungent, blasting with a zesty flavor, it was very flavorful; matching the heat with a comfortable leftover taste in your mouth. The mild-hot was something for all the weak hearted individuals. Not too hot but enough to make you feel like you are daring life. I would consider my first visit a nice 4/5. Im eager to try different flavors and even putting this establishment in my rotation.
Hot wings prove that sometimes the best things in life come with a little suffering —so embrace the spice and...
Read moreI’m sitting in the restaurant as I’m writing the review. I haven’t received my order so I have 0 comment on the food, however, upon entering the restaurant I was NOT greeted by the employee at the cash register. She was on the phone and motioned for me to step up and place my order. As I’m placing my order, she’s telling the person on the phone “keep talking. Im listening to you”. I’m standing there in shock and appalled at the lack of professionalism and customer service. This is my 1st time coming to this establishment and I came because they had positive reviews about the food and friendliness of the employees. That is simply not what I experienced today. If the food is good, I may give them another shot but as it stands right now. Not sure I’ll be back. I hope the business owner read reviews and address the employee that was there working front end of the restaurant that day because she could coast them their business and livelihood. Professionalism and customer service should not be a choice in the restaurant industry, it should be...
Read moreThe guy in there is very nice.. the food was cooked good, and the wings had great texture, and they had great presentation. I must have misunderstood the "mild lemon pepper" cause I thought that meant they wouldn't be spicy. I couldn't eat em. The atmosphere only got 3 stars because its unfinished, and their air was out, but I know its something that is coming along. It appeared to be a father and young son, running the place, and kinda reminded me of when I was young, and my dad opened a donut shop on the corner of Jackson and Rockwood. We struggled, and the location didn't get alot business, but we remodeled the place ourselves, and we made some great donuts. So great in fact, that the owner of Howard's on Summer offered me a while standing at our front counter. This wing joint is going to be great. I know where they are located may not get a lot of visibility from the speed of passing traffic, and theres not alot of parking, but they provide a better product than any wing chain around here, to me. I want to go back, try a...
