Huge variety and very helpful! A neighbor friend recommended that I check out Louie's to get supplies for my front yard redo. I had told her that I had been to one of the big box stores and wasn't happy with the selection they had available. I'm putting in all drought tolerant landscaping but didn't want the same exact plants as everyone else doing it. I also have tons of questions about the plants I'm interested in and no one at the big box store knew more than what the tag already said. I went in this morning to check it out and get some advice. My first impression was of all their beautiful variety. They have so much more to choose from than the other place and everything looks so healthy. I walked around for a while just enjoying browsing and then went towards the desk. Everyone was so helpful. They answered all of my questions and potential concerns. I showed them a picture of what I had done so far and they gave me some great suggestions. I noticed that a few things were more expensive than the other place but other things were a lot less expensive too. As far as quality the plants definitely seem to be much better. For me the advice and helpfulness is worth a little extra anyway. As a bonus they have a really big selection of little succulents to pick from some of which are...
Read moreWent to Louie's nursery yesterday 4-10-22 as they said they had a kumquat citrus tree that i was looking for. Citrus trees are hard to come by, so I was willing to pay the extra $$$$ for a 15-gallon tree. When I got home, I proceeded to start planting it and was shocked when opening the container that the planting mix just fell out of the bottom as soon as the container was cut. No compaction at all. The root structure was that of a 5-gallon tree and the bottom half of the container was just loose planting mix. I doubt that the Kumquat had been in this container much over a month if that. I'm hoping that the tree wasn't shocked by having the roots exposed and disappointed that someone would take advantage of the shortage by moving it into a new 15-gallon container without it having a chance to root. If Louie's received it this way, then their supplier is gouging their customers. 3 weeks ago, I purchased a 15-gallon mandarin from another close by nursery and was able to lift it completely out of the container, roots intact, without even cutting it. Have been using Louie's for close to 20 years but this was a real...
Read moreHorrible Service and should be ashamed how they take care of that place. Maybe back in the day it was nice. Not anymore. Fallen Trees rotting away, not taken care of in any way but you will see employees laying around talking instead of cleaning that place up! Oh Don't try to ask for help, If you don't buy something within 20 min they get upset for wasting their time. The most Horrible Experience I've ever had at a Nursery. It's a Freakin Nursery, just do your Job! Maybe the Owner is away, I don't know but this isn't the place to buy ANYTHING! Ended up going to CAGLIERO NURSURY IN HEMET. What a World of Difference having people that really love what they do. No Pressure, Lots of Selection, and BETTER Prices Hands Down! Avoid Louie's like the Covid-19!...
