Rating based on the terrible attitude and customer service of the front desk staff
Disappointed with my experience with the front desk but nurses and doctors were great. Came in at 5:30pm on a Saturday. Was the only person in the waiting room. They are open until 8pm. Was seen for sore throat and diagnosed with strep. Asked that they call my prescription into Giant Eagle on Tyler in Mentor because it was so close by not realizing the Giant Eagle pharmacy was already closed (6pm) and that they could have given me my script at Urgent Care. After getting to Giant Eagle and seeing the pharmacy was closed I called the UH urgent care location I had just left not more than 5 minutes before and asked if there was somewhere else open or if I could get a day of the script there. Was told the giant eagle on 91 pharmacy is open or I could wait until morning. Mind you itās a snow storm and I went to urgent care for a reason. Asked that they please ask the doctor/nurse and was put on hold and transferred to voicemail so because I was still in the same parking lot I went back and upon arrival was told she would ask but Iām causing them more work. Really? My service fees go toward your pay. I have strep and you have the medicine. Nurse arrived at the front desk with in 5 minutes with the script so the front desk staff could continue to chat (waiting room was again only me) SHOW KINDNESS AND COMPASSION or leave medical field. Front desk staff too. If you canāt empathize with people find a new job. Individuals donāt go to urgent care when they can wait for a script...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMost that go to urgent care go because they need something urgently resolved, yet it doesn't warrant an ER visit. I'm a busy teacher and mom, so I don't go to the doctor unless absolutely necessary, which is why I went here today. I'd been battling a sinus issue for weeks that over-the-counter medications were not resolving so I needed assistance. I came in around 12:30-1:00 and was taken back quickly then sat in a room for about 15-20 minutes. The doctor did no physical exam, not even listening to my lungs or anything, and through conversation only, determined I had a sinus infection. I had guessed that myself, but would've liked to be examined further, otherwise I would've just chosen a teledoc appointment. It was noted that 2 prescriptions would be called in. As of 5:15 pm, no prescription had been called in and the pharmacy was closing at 6 pm. When I called to speak with someone at the urgent care to follow up on it, I was transferred back to the nurses and of course, had to leave a voicemail. So, needless to say, I guess my issue wasn't that urgent and I'll have to wait until tomorrow for any relief.
In the future, I will only go to Hometown Urgent Care (used to be Wellnow) off Andrews Rd. I've been there for myself and my daughter many times before without any issues. We are ALWAYS seen promptly and have never had issues with filling prescriptions. I've always said that it's our secret place because they never seem too busy and we receive quality care. I can't say the same for the UH Urgent Care on Center St. I would avoid this location or go as a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'm not normally a negative person, but I visited Urgent Care in Mentor today and was quite displeased and disappointed. I walked in and felt like I was immediately given sass by the receptionist because I didn't know I had to make an appt, which when did we start needing to make appts for URGENT CARE? She asked for my information to send me a link in a text to register...this would have been much quicker if she herself did it. Its Urgent Care, why are patients, who probably aren't in the right head space to do this, completing their own registration?? I completed the registration in about 5-10 mins then walked up to the receptionist for her to just tell me to sit down again, they'll be out any minute. I waited for 45 mins in the lobby with the sun from windows beating down on the back of my neck when I already had a fever. No shades, no chairs that didn't have the sun exposure. Once I'm called back, I get my vitals taken and end up waiting for another 30 mins just to see a nurse to strep test me. Meanwhile, I'm hearing people in the main offices laughing and dilly dallying like there aren't patients in ear shot who just want to be seen. A whole other 15 mins after the strep test, the CNP finally comes in and tells me that I'm wrong and don't have strep...I had to defend myself and tell her I've had it a million times before and know that it's strep. Long story short, I wasted an hour and half for me to already know what's wrong with me and literally just needed antibiotics sent over. I have learned my lesson and will not be returning to this...
