This place used to be better than average, even really good for certain dishes, however things have certainly changed, all for the worst. Firstly, the service we experienced last night was perhaps the worst I’ve experienced in who knows how long - we sat for 30 mins before even seeing a menu or being asked about a drink order; we had the most abrupt, impersonal server ever, who almost chastised us for requesting menu items they didn’t have available, including any bar items…we’re talking regular menu offerings, all on the menus handed to us (no liquor license, by the way); same server forgot or got wrong several of our orders, which all arrived at wide spread, various times, including one main after several others at our table were done eating. I would normally have just up and left before even ordering, but others at the table of 7 wanted to hang in there, in part because the service was so bad, it was almost comical. Secondly, the food was very subpar. Their old owner presided over a kitchen that produced a very good General’s Tao’s chicken, maybe the best in Lake County, but the current version of the dish is very much the standard “dilapidated mall, food court restaurant, mystery meat” style dish. Not good…I’m still waiting for a violent intestinal eruption to occur… Most of the others in our party didn’t eat more than 1/5th of their food either, for the same reason. Bottom line is, this isn’t the Imperial Dragon of old, at all. This place is a hard pass for a...

My family and I were anticipating the reopening of Imperial Dragon. With the absence of good quality restaurants and service post Covid we weren't sure what to expect. We dined in the restaurant and noticed the interior was refreshed. We were greeted at the door and seated by a very polite gentleman. Our server Amy whom we remembered from before was very nice and a pleasure. We ordered our Wonton Soups and then placed our orders for our main meal.We noticed others had received their main entrees and were amazed at not only the amount of food but how delicious it looked. When we recieved our food we were pleasantly suprised and knew we were going to enjoy our dinner. The serving size reflects the price and the quality of the food is outstanding in our opinion. For those with a large appetite the serving size is satisfying and should not disappoint. We had seen some negative reviews about others experiences at the restaurant when they first opened.I would expect some wrinkles to be ironed out in a reopening process of getting a restaurant back to operating capacity. Our hope is that Imperial Dragon continues to operate in this fashion and can be a restaurant we can frequent knowing what to expect and always anticipate a great meal to be had.We consider Imperial Dragon to be a 5 Star Chinese Restaurant that Mentor has to offer and we are very...

Used to come here all the time with my father when I was a kid. My father’s since passed but the restaurant still stands so I decided to take my wife here. We got shrimp for an appetizer that was overcooked, overbreaded and tasted like their freezer. I myself nor my wife could continue picking at the shrimp and sent half the order back. Our main course finally arrived and just as I prepared my first bite on my fork I noticed a hair that wasn’t just on top of my dish but was mixed in. I leaned back more disappointed than I already was and waited for the waitress. She comes back and I show her the hair. She proceeds to use my utensils to fish the hair from my food which was blatantly of oriental descent and rushes away with it and my dish only to return and proceed to argue that nobody is working there with that color hair. The hair was jet black my wife’s is strawberry blonde and mine is brown. Long story short I knew to leave when the restaurant was entirely empty and I was disgusted by their water glasses. I’m sharing this honest experience in hopes that this small business will learn from their mistakes rather than argue/make excuses for their lack of cleanliness. It was nice going inside and reminiscing but unfortunately that was just closure as I will never be returning. Enjoy the $20 bill you essentially...

I have read the reviews for this establishment and truthfully I was nervous at first. Once inside however, I had a wonderful experience. The waitress was very prompt and polite the food was quick to my table and was exceptionally fresh. The vegetable were cooked but crisp and each of the peas looked like they were hand picked without blemish. (I doubt this is the case but the source they use is good). Let's talk price, I paid $13.75 including tip for a meal and service I was very happy with. My meal included hot and sour soup (average for this region but accompanied by some of the freshest chips) and hunan pork with fried rice (excellent for any area I have encountered) the soup was $3.00 the hunan pork combo was $7.00 prices are slightly higher then your average quick grab Asian restaurant but the quality of the food is worth the lightly elevated price. If you expect a cheap salty cooked to death this is not your place.

This place is gross. There was crusted on food on the "clean" silverware and dishes. I could feel the sticky food residue on the outside of my cup so I don't even want to know what was on the inside. My son also had a hair on his plate that we noticed and commented about as the waiter put it down. He just ignored us and left us with the hair plate. I have to wonder if they reuse straws too...it comes already in your drink by the time it gets to your table and mine was super sticky at the top where NONE of the beverage was even close to touching it.I tried to take photos of the hair plate and some of the gross silverware discreetly but it was dimly lit but hopefully you can see some of the things I mentioned. We were skeeved out and definitely won't be back. We will go to Chins Pagoda instead...that place was always wonderful any time we went!

I just don't know where to begin. This is my 3rd Chinese restaurant I have tried since moving here 6 months ago. This one is not any better. than the first two. There was just no taste to the beef and broccoli. And the broccoli was hard. When I opened the container, I thought, "Good, a lot of sauce" then I tasted it. I ended up throwing 1/2 of it out. The next item up was the chicken and snow peas. A lot of snow peas when I opened it up so I was happy. But the snow peas were hard, the chicken tasteless. Sauce not good. So I thought, ok, the egg roll has to be ok. I warmed it up in the micro on top of the paper it was in. I could see the grease on the paper and the egg roll when I took it out of the microwave. But I tried it anyway. Mistake. I enclosed a pic of that. And this takeout was not cheap.
