I had the opportunity to see one of Dr. K's PAs for my initial appointment as a new patient. However, after that, I experienced a lack of communication from their medical staff, which was quite disappointing. It was incredibly difficult to reach anyone at the office over the phone, and even when I did manage to get in touch, any promises of a follow-up call were never fulfilled. I also found it disheartening that I never had the chance to meet Dr. K in person after nearly a year under his care. It would have been helpful if they had informed me beforehand that I would be disregarded unless I opted for their concierge service, which comes at an additional cost. Knowing this, I would have preferred to take my business elsewhere.
It seems that Dr. K's concierge service is thriving, as they recently made the decision to drop all patients who were not enrolled in that program. It's quite surprising that any business can sustain itself while treating paying customers in such a neglectful manner. I reached out to request a prescription refill while I search for another primary care physician, but unfortunately, they haven't even acknowledged my email. This lack of response is truly disheartening and leaves a sickening feeling.
Overall, my experience with Dr. K's office and their medical staff has been deeply unsatisfactory. The lack of communication and failure to acknowledge patient concerns or needs is highly disappointing. As a result, I would strongly recommend exploring other options for your...
Read moreI am technically still a patient of Dr. Kanellopoulos, but haven't seen or heard from him for over a year, and this is after a serious illness that required a lengthy hospital stay. As the other patient stated, Sabrina, the nurse practitioner, was nice at first but her tone has abruptly changed. Ever since Dr. K left Health First the office operations have taken a nose-dive. He used to seem hands-on, caring, and I liked his approach to staying well. But now no one answers the phone, voice mail boxes full, messages not returned, and it's excruciating and tedious to have to chase after them each month to send my prescription to the pharmacy. I'm not on pain meds, but the prescription Dr. K put me on is necessary for me, and each month I run out, then have to go for a day or more without because no one seems to care, pay attention, or whatever. My husband was on pain meds, after two knee surgeries and a lifetime of physical labor, he has chronic pain. He went down from post surgery six pills a day to two, over a controlled period, since 2016, and was fine on his dose, but they, too, made him feel like a drug addict. I'd like to see how they feel after five decades of back-breaking hands-on work. I hate to do it, but we're going to look for a new doctor. A shame, I though I had found a great doctor for life (he's younger than me) but now he's more like a business-owner hiding behind the...
Read moreThis is a tough one. The doctor is awesome, but the office staff is by far the worst group of humans I have ever interacted with for a doctor's office. They have flat out lied to me and tried to conceal it later, and the doctor confirmed the lie after the fact. I have, on multiple occasions, had to follow up 3-6 times to get anything done (scheduling critical appts with referrals, sending me information, following up from previous orders). I have also asked to speak directly to the doctor on 7 different occasions recently (4 e-mails, and three in-person phone calls), spanning over 2.5 weeks. And I have still not received a phone call back. The front office is so bad and shady, I wonder if those messages are ever even getting to the doctor. Eventually, before I pull my family's business from this place, I'll make sure I show the doctor printed copies of all of the e-mails and my requests. The office staff doesn't even listen when you're trying to explain your request from them. And then nothing happens, and you have to call back or e-mail back repeatedly until the get the medical assistant to actually help. Just terrible terrible customer service. And the doctor may or may...
