Horrible! After being brought in by 911 my husband was left in a wheelchair in the lobby, a bad fever throwing up, no one to assist us in getting him to a restroom. He was left there for 2 hours, a nurse came out to call back groups of patients from a list that he had written ON HIS GLOVE! He left me to hold all belongings AND push my husbands wheelchair, dumped us in a room with a useless recliner not a bed. Then he returns in 4 minutes or less and asked did CT already take you for the scan. Seriously?!Saw the ER doctor for maybe 4 minutes then never saw her again for the rest of the 6 and 1/2 hours we were in the ER. Nobody came to update us on what was happening, finally found out from the second phlebotomist when she came to draw more blood that my husband was very sick with an infection inside his body somewhere. Had a nurse show up said your room is ready I'm taking you there. When I said wait can somebody please tell us what is going on I was told oh you should be lucky that he got a room so quickly most people have to wait several hours. I had to run after her to keep up as she was pushing my husband so fast in that recliner. The nurse in that room was very informative and told me how sick my husband was and that he was scheduled for surgery in less than 10 hours. After surgery my husband was brought to the same room 6 hours later, that nurse informed me of what was going to take place and how they were going to get him up and moving and how he needed to practice breathing yet after her shift none of that took place. My husband was brought back on oxygen with a drain tube as well as a cath, which the doctor came into tell me was needed because he was septic and they needed to make sure he didn't dehydrate and they were going to be monitoring his vitals. None of that happened. 30 plus hrs later some ladies came to walk him, once they found out that no one had done anything for him, and his 02 was low with oxygen on, they questioned things, at that point it was discovered somebody shut his oxygen off somebody shut his IV off and the battery had died in the leg compression thing. No one had drained his catheter bag no one had drained the ball on his drain tube. And no one had any answers as to why. Going on 41 hours of him laying in that bed since his surgery, nurse call button going off Iv alarm going off, someone from admission coming in saying his status had been changed to observation, when I questioned it I was told to ask the nurse when I asked the nurse the nurse told me it was above her pay grade and I needed to speak to a case manager and she walked out. I requested that his catheter bag be drained as well as the drain tube ball I was told by the nurse oh they can get much fuller but I'll go ahead and drain it anyway. 48 hour later still no one to assist in getting my husband up and moving. IV alarm going off again was silenced by a different nurse, an aid came into the room I mentioned the IV she walked over to the machine knocking my husband's breathing tool onto the floor on the mouthpiece picked it right up and said it back on his bedside table, (absolutely disgusting and unacceptable) said she was going to let the nurse know about the IV, never returned neither did the nurse. Shift change nurses could be heard using the f word and other swear words by patient rooms.I brought my concerns to somebody's attention, and in doing so it was discovered that there was pee all over the floor by my husband's bed! They didn't close his cath bag and urine was leaking for hours. The NA with me simply threw a towel on the floor. No one came to clean that up until our surgeon came and I shared with him all of my concerns, he was upset, went out and found out they were not documenting any of his vitals including his output of fluids, that's when a nurse came to clean the floor by putting more towels to wipe it up. How inhumane he was treated!! Regardless of staff shortage patient care should NEVER be neglected! Disgusting disgraceful, and degrading. My husband said he would rather die than go back...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGASLIT the entire time when I came in by ambulance after being at Banner gateway just 3 days prior for the same thing. Lactic acidosis and canāt figure out the reason why it keeps happening to me. These people even put me in as a new patient and not my regular ID number so they couldnāt even access my previous hospital records so claimed I was lying about being seen previously at gateway and now I have no way to access my records because they put me under a new ID. On my discharge paperwork there was no diagnosis even listed when I came by ambulance puking, couldnāt stand or walk, was severely dizzy with vertigo and lack of coordination, legs weak, and felt extremely ill to the point of passing out.
Horrible Doctor overseeing me I overheard saying āshe said sheās dizzy but sheās talking to me and moving her headā after I asked to talk to the charge nurse. So he talked to her before coming to me to get her on his side thinking Iām lying. the entire world would spin if I tried to move or stand or move my body. Sitting in a chair keeping my head straight I could talk. Havenāt eaten in 4 days, havenāt had a bowel movement in 6 days which is not normal for me at all, stomach blowing, nausea and pain, canāt sleep, legs weak to the point I canāt put weight on them and need assistance walking, canāt shower for the last week, severe balance and vertigo issues still to this moment with no end in sight and no answers.
My outpatient doctors think D-lactic acidosis but this hospital donāt have that test. My lactic acid was high my last two ER trips for the same symptoms. Extreme vertigo, tingling in hands and feet, severe vomiting to the point of dry heaving foam, severe weakness, extreme dry mouth, no balance or coordination, slurring speech at its worst. Do all doctors in the ER assume people are faking?!?! Like I really want to spend thousands of dollars on an ambulance and an ER thatās germ infested while Iām immune compromised to FAKE my symptoms? Are you serious? I felt like I was going to die, and still am not ok, and the doctor was a compassionless arrogant jerk. I felt those could be my last moments and he refused to investigate further and discharged me when I couldnāt walk but he didnāt know that. He saw me a whole 2 minutes and didnāt see the times I was with the nurses dizzy anytime I moved and them having to help me with everything because I was so dizzy and couldnāt put weight on my legs.
Iām still sick to this day. Both gateway and baywood discharged me when Iām having repeated episodes of lactic acidosis with no understanding as to why. I could have a bowel obstruction thatās producing lactic acid making me sick. Iām now down 5 lbs in 4 days and Iām only 105lbs. The cherry on top was one of my nurses used her bare hands with NO GLOVES to change my saline IV line with her long dirty fingernails. I had one amazing nurse, ER JOE I think his name on his badge was who was PHENOMENAL and he was the only highlight of this trip. So caring and compassionate. Banner baywood doesnāt deserve him.
I will say Iāve had some outpatient tests done here with really kind and great people but this ER is something else. When I came in a few years ago I did get a great ER doctor but all the nurses were awful that trip. Never again. DO BETTER. Dont get into the healthcare field please if you hate your job and your patients and just see them as a problem and blow them off and gaslight them. Not everyone is lying and people really need help and your lack of compassion and gaslighting is disgusting. I bet Iāll have severe complications from whatever they missed too. Thanks for not helping me in my desperate time of need.
I now found out my aunt, who I see once per year and asked to come be with me out of desperation as I couldnāt get ahold of anyone, got me discharged so she could get home to go to work since it was 3AM and told the PA untrue statements and he believed her⦠this has affected my life since and now my record has false statements she told the PA which is written in my record and could really harm my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWell my friends, you know the rules. I will praise an establishment for good deeds and critique the bad establishments for bad service, bad people. I could write a LONG journal about this place and i have been here twice 2 times in less then a week. To bad that their aren't anymore hospitals then this because we sure can use a couple of good ones. To rate Banner Hospital is an all around a fair to low 2 1/2 ā in general. It's a big gamble going to this place in general. Would I recommend this place to anyone? NOOOO...Learn it for yourself, it starts with the admittance. They have a sign in the admittance front deck, a list with 5 things that they wont tolerate and i understand. What they wont tolerate. But the people up front needs a list of positive sayins too. Like being friendly, kind, gentle, understanding, caring, compassionate. Dont treat me as i am entering a prison system. The security guards are right there. Read all the bad reviews, it should be a wake up call to the administratoion people meaning the hospital. and yet not corrections have been done. Why is that? Funny some generated robot responds sayin sorry to hear about your bad experience and please contact us at email and tell us more!!! They dont call you, won't meet you in person, Why is that? read the reviews, a robot response with the same, mostly response, learn something. After all have been to responding to your hospital with bad reviews, you haven't coorrcted the problems yet. Why!!! send any type of response with a email and nothing is corrected and done. They want respect and don't give any respect back and we are the patient. Mostly they are aggressive, defensive not friendly, nor kind nor gentle. The hallways are noisy, loud voices, meaning the employees. It sounds like high school between classes. lots of banging, thumping, doors slamming and this is at all times of the days.especially at nights when you are supposed to be sleeping. I thought that hospitals supposely to be some what some quite!!! They want your money, they bill your insurance BIG TIME, THIS is NOT a perfect world and i think that we have better expectations from a BIG hospital group. From reading most of the reviews, you should fill liked that you are being taking good care of as you are a big part of your family Expect your food to come on time but cold, hard and old. I know that there's alot of patients to feed, alot of floors to cover, but this has been going on for ever and nothing has been improved, Why is that? Even then the employees don't eat the food because you know why! . Being neutral is one but having fillings, compassion, a heart. Respect is earned not given, they over use the word way to much, they expect it and don't give it, Why is that, what happened to give it a take? This is my view points, I stayed here several times. I have experienced in what goes on here in this hospital. Nothing is goin to change, they the hospital thinks its doing a great job and it's not, read all the bad reviews, yes people have had bad experiences but come on, there's a he'll of load of bad reviews. More bad then good Oveous your weekly meeting haven't changed thought out the years, yes you thinking that everyone everything is OK and it's not. After to me in the real world š things are not improving, people get fired, let go, step down. Its time to get respectable, a place where people won't be scared, afraid to come to be helped. My review don't meanto much all the other reviews says it for me. Just sayin. I guess that my opinion or was asked up to the office to discuss any of these matters. I guess my friends we are only a number to them meaning Banner Hospital, not family. Funny I could have been under cover boss!!! Is poor standing, bad reviews are your standards?l No one from this has ever reached out to me yet to appligise or anything else. Sorta sucks for thus Hospital. Are the beyound to good for anybody? Just sayin my friends. Just...
