Nice ambiance inside. My daughter took me here for lunch. They brought hot tea to the table which was a nice surprise. We had their lunch special which included soup. The soup was good and hot but if you want some crunchy noodles for your soup it’s $1.50 a bowl, then they bring the appetizer plate which was a very good cheese puff and fried chicken drumette with a teriyaki sauce. Sadly these were cold. Deep fried food served cold is never a good thing. Our lunch special choices were lemon chicken and almond chicken. The lemon chicken was the worst I’ve ever had. The lemon chicken was served with a red sauce and the thick deep fried chicken breast was tasteless. Specials are served with brown rice, you are not offered a choice of white rice. We also added an egg roll to our orders. They were good and large. Service was good.

This place has been the same owner for years! I was recently turned onto this place by Dr. Michael Kenney who owns Kenney Chiropractic on Power Rd about a block away. He suggested the lunch menu and I ordered the spicy Kung Pao shrimp. The owner herself was taking our order and managing the restaurant. The restaurant, while a little dated looking, was very well kept and clean. The food came out quickly and it was tasty! I ordered a Mongolian beef to go for my co-worker who also enjoyed his food. I am on a contract that will keep me in this area for a year so I’ll be back!

Yen Ching Mandarin Restaurant is a well-known hole in the wall Asian restaurant that has been around in Mesa, Arizona for almost 30 years, and this is our first time enjoying it! After walking past the waiting area, I did not expect to see and feel a elegant and relaxing atmosphere. We ordered shrimp and snow peas, Yen Ching signature Mongolian beef, what's a side of Crab puffs and sweet and sour soup. Every item ordered was to imperfection, and so was our service. I can't wait to eat at this establishment again. So glad we made it in before they close!

The food has changed over the years and was not so good this time. The egg roll and cup of soup was good but 4 out of five entrees not so good the one entree that tasted good was sweet and sour chicken we all agreed that it tasted good. The server was nice and took 3 of 4 seafood dishes back to the kitchen, he came back out and said the cook tasted them and found all very good. The 3 dishes sent back stayed on our check and the 3 ordered sweet and sour chicken and it arrived and was super good. The one that eat half of his seafood dishes and took the other half home became violently ill about six hours later and because of his age, we ended up taking him to the emergency room. He receives several bags of IV with medication to help him stop the vomiting. The emergency room physician believed it was food poisoning and contacted the health department. The whole experience surprised me since we’ve been eating at this restaurant 3 to 4 times a month for about 16 years now and have enjoyed taking friends and family there to enjoy the food. As a courtesy I tried to reach the owner the next day and the gentleman that I spoke with who identified himself as the owner said it was the same seafood he served all day long for the past two days and nobody else was sick so It must be our friend had the flu. I tried to Explained to him that was not the case, but he insisted it was. He then told me Don’t ever come back here again. Newsflash we would not be going back there again “ever” … Something definitely has changed in the past few years and the quality of food And the service has done nothing but gone downhill. I suspect they won’t be open much longer with this kind of food quality and POOR treatment. When I paid the check the 3 bad seafood dishes stayed on our check so I paid for 8 dishes for 5 people and was told The owner said we had to pay for them. Good luck Yen Chen you will not get any Moore money from us or...

Went there today and someone from the back yelled I will be right there. Same person that has been there before seated us, he was more or lest prompt with everything. But, we did run out of Tea, and my sweet/sour pork was so/so, way to much sauce and the pork was done for this time. Paid by CC and left, did not leave a TIP. Tips are not a requirement, it is a thing given for good service and things. Went out to our car and started to leave, same guy came out, i think his name is "david", but receipt says employee. He stated that I did not sign his copy, which I did, but then he had the gaul to say, NO TIP! Why do American Wait Staff always expect a TIP, if you do not want to give one, you do not have too. Yes I know the work hard ect, but still its not a requirement, and if service is so so or bad, then no TIP. I use to work in the Wait Staff Service and never went after a person not...

Like most of you, I have dined in many Mom and Pop coffee shops, regular coffee shops ie; Denny's, standard restaurants, and 5 star hotel restaurants all over the United States. This restaurant should br rated as a 6** (6) star restaurant, which is obviously as high as you can go plus 1* (1) star. The lead waitor has been working there for over 27 years. There are (2) additional waitresses assisting. him. I'm not a rich man, but you are waited on as if you were in one of the the most expensive restaurants in the world. If you want a 1st class dining experience, and you love Chinese food, than this is the place. The 4 of us ordered everything we wanted for a total if $110.00 with tip. I left a 25% tip also. You won't be disappointed! It's a first come, 1st serve restaurant, They do not take reservations, so none are required. Enjoy your dinner and impress your family...
