Recently saw Dr. Gina Mathew, endocrinologist. What a horrible appt, very rude doctor. I wasnt going to write a review, but couldn't let it go. This doctor wrote in clinical notes name calling on me. Calls me extremely abrasive. That I raised my voice to her. She said I didn't want to come to this appt. I live in a world that when I'm honest and advocate for myself I'm considered extremely abrasive. Her write up on me is a one sided story of course. By Dr. Mathew writing up negative and name calling on me causes other doctors who read the clinical notes to treat me with discrimination. Doctors side with doctors. I'm not going to apologize being honest, advocating for myself, and researching side effects and not wanting to suffer from those side effects. She spoke to me like a 5 yr old. I did raise my voice after she kept cutting me off from speaking. I was there for one reason. She ask questions that my pcp would cover and other specialists. She kept cuting me off because she was late on her next appt. She came in 35 mins late past my appt. When I explained why my blood pressure was high because my anxiety was high but it was normal when at home. Bp become high if I'm waiting past my appt time. She started to argue with me telling me she has other patients, that I'm not the only one. She has no problem reporting me for my behavior, on her notes, that all staff and banner doctors can read. But her behavior is no different from mine by reacting to name calling and arguing at me. She's a doctor and should represent her self as a doctor and remain calm, even for those patience like me who suffer from anxiety. I do feel in my own beliefs that some doctors discriminate towards me based on looks, race, gender, financial status, disability, and even behavioral. I don't hide it from from doctors that I have extreme phobias and suffer from anxiety. Since she feels so offended by me why bother and make another appt for me. How am I suppose to trust and feel comfortable. With Dr. Mathew after what she...
Read moreI know this review might be a little long but everything is just as I experienced and it happened today. BTW my sons Dr. is not this way at all and she is in the same facility. So this review is specifically about Dr. Chuba Ononye
First off my check-in time was at 9:45am. My appointment was at 10am. They didn't call me back into the room until 10:45am. Then Dr. Chuba gets in the room at 11:10 (nearly 1.5 HOURS after I arrived) and he is out of the room by 11:17. I am a new patient and had to wait almost 2 months for this appointment. I was told by front office staff that it is because they need a little longer with new patients to have extra time with the patient (so existing patients must get 5 minutes).
Anyways I told him right when he walked in that I have been experiencing a horrible skin problem for 5-7 years and I wanted to go over that with him. I am going to skip over the details.
So guess what happened next? Nothing, he didn't even bother to see what can be done to help with it.
The first thing he said was that he was going to order blood test to check all my blood levels and he made sure my lungs sounded good and then left the room to put in a request for my blood tests.
The next person that shows up is an M.A. I told her that I wanted the Dr. to look at my foot problem... She went and spoke with him and without even looking he put in a prescription for a fungus cream. Then they ushered me out of the doctors office.
Needless to say I surely hope that whoever goes there next time has the same experience we have with our son (awesome). I wish that no one has to go through the horrible experience I had to go through today.
I work HARD for my money and these Drs. (while they spent a lot of time going to school and getting educated) just take what I work so hard for and get paid a LOT of $$$ for NOTHING! (again not all Drs.) but in this case it was Dr....
Read moreI scheduled a nurse visit for a tetanus shot today at 4:15PM per email instructions from my doctor. When I called in to make the appointment the representative mentioned that since the email didn't indicate an exam visit the nurse appointment for my tetanus shot would be fine.
Making this appointment required me to take a late lunch during my companies busy season. I showed up at 4:05PM…10 minutes early for my appointment. At 4:36PM the desk associate mentioned she forget to tell the nurse I was here and would get them on my shot right away. At 4:50PM I kindly inquired again as I'm needing to get back to work. I'm told by the desk associates manager that in order to receive this tetanus shot that this would require a visit with my doctor since she hasn’t seen me in over a year. They claim to have also received this information from my doctor.
Why didn't my doctor mention this in my initial inquiry?
This concerns me because it makes me feel like...what else are we going to miss?
What about the cost of my time and expense to come to Banner today?
I've been very understanding and compassionate with healthcare professionals considering the pandemic we are in, but my experience with Banner as a whole has been less than satisfactory in the last 12 months. Nobody seemed to care about my time!
What do I need to do to make sure this never happens again? I'm guessing a complaint form that goes into a black hole similar to Banner Urgent care?
If this is going to be how things are then maybe my wife and I are better off driving 45 mins to go back to our prior doctor at Honor Health...
