I came just after 6 so the automated car wash was closed. I decided to try out the manual washer and discovered spraying down your car is actually really satisfying. I was also impressed with the options the washer had; if you cycle throw each of them you will get a full on wash with soap and rinse.
The issues I had with Dolphin Carwash is that it says $3 for 5 minutes which is a reasonable price and enough time to wash your car, however it doesn't automatically shut off after 5 minutes and doesn't really make it clear how to stop the timer so if you go over it charges you more. Now this would not be too much of an issue, however it doesn't increase by fifty cents or a dollar per minute like any reasonable human being would expect; I went over 5 minutes by 40-50 seconds before I realized how to shut it off ( I wasn't even using it in these seconds) and my credit card was charged 15$!!!
This isn't were my issues stop. Next I pulled straight into the vacuum area to get a towel to dry my car. I expected to have to pay for a towel and I did have to pay $1 for a coin to pick from a selection of products (only 2 being a towel, the other towel option that I didn't pick a $2 micro-fiber cloth) and I got my towel from the dispenser. What I received was a complete disappointment. For one whole dollar I got the equivalent of 4 attached pieces of some decent quality paper towel which clearly will NOT do the job of drying my car. Within seconds of me trying my best to dry my windows and mirrors so there would not be any water residue spots, the "towel" was soaked and could not dry anymore. I then went to the dispenser again to get another "towel" desperate to dry at least my windshield off and the dispenser ate my coin that I PAID A DOLLAR FOR. Dolphin Carwash, how do you expect people to dry off their car after using the self-serving car wash if your only options that you provide are basically paper towels? Maybe if I had 10 of those things I could get the job done, but I can't even successfully buy 2 of them in a row without your ancient dispenser eating my coins. Oh, and I forgot to mention that I couldn't even use their vacuum (which in most car washes are free to use) because it requires 4 quarters (for probably not enough time to vacuum your whole car) and I didn't have any on me.
So, I left Dolphin Carwash with a car that didn't even look like it had been cleaned due to water residue, thinking I had spent 5$ ($3 on the washer and $2 on a towel and a coin that the dispenser ate) when in reality I spent $17, and, knowing I still had to go home and vacuum out my car and rewash it to get the water residue off.
I will not go back to Dolphin Carwash until they seriously redesign their money-grabbing business model. There are MANY better options for car washes around this area so just choose one of those instead of going here and if you do have to go to Dolphin Carwash, for whatever reason, bring a towel with you. I do realize I haven't tried the automated car wash, but if it's like everything else at this establishment, I would be willing to bet you could do a better job at the self-serve washer and a...
Read moreSo first I’d like to say Dolphin Car Wash is a 5 Star place! I come with my boyfriend often as he’s a regular. BUT what I dislike more than anything is the windshield people who come up to every single car while you wait your turn before your car wash. Every single time you attend this car wash!!!! I HATE it so much! When I go to a car wash, I’m coming to get my car cleaned.....not be sold on a new windshield!! Please please please get ride of these windshield people. It’s bad for business. When I want my car washed I drive further to find a drive thru one at a gas station, because I DON’T want to listen to a sales pitch. This place for sure has lost tons of business because of these windshield people. My boyfriend keeps going, because his car looks amazing after it’s washed here. But they’d lose his business as well if a new similar car wash opened up close by. I can’t personally bring myself here to get my car washed because of these windshield people. Get rid of them, and I’ll be a loyal customer and come every two weeks like my...
Read moreBEWARE: prices aren't listed! If you use debit minimum is $5. What's not listed is how long you get. But hey if you're running short the beeper will go off and let you know! NOT. My $5 got me past 5 minutes, then 10, then 11. No beeper, so I must not have gone over.
I'm basically done so I'll go hit "stop" on the debit box. Timer still ticking. It wouldn't stop. So I go reach out to an employee (who by the way was very friendly and apologetic.) He informed me that as long as I hit "stop" on the box it would register even if the timer keeps going (haven't confirmed yet.) He tells me that my bay and another were having issues, however THERE WERE NO SIGNS POSTED ANYWHERE about these issues.
Not sure if they're scamming or not. Don't know if that issue with the debit box was illegal. I say...
