I almost went to my favorite Thai place in town but thought I'd try this one, since the reviews were alright. I typically order 3 or 4 things at new Thai places in case I don't like something.
I pull up, and the sign is not in working order. It has several letters lit poorly and one was not even lit up at all. I lived very close to this place for almost a year in the past and it has never actually been in good working order, which shows the owner or management does not care enough for this establishment to be its best.
I call from the parking lot.
Moving along..
I ordered 2 apps and 2 entrees.
App #1: egg roll. Pretty standard, comes with the same water-thin "meh" quality sweet and sour sauce that most other places seem to use. I ordered peanut sauce for dipping, as I don't care for the sauce it comes with. The egg rolls were pretty good, and the peanut sauce was excellent.
App #2: crab Rangoon. Very poor quality right away. They were all burned, and barely had any filling in them, and the filling they did have tasted like cheap salty mayo covered seafood from a chinese buffet. They should not have allowed this dish to leave the kitchen in it's state.
Entree #1: pineapple curry, medium spiciness. The spiciness level was perfect. It made my nose water, which is what I like. The flavor was okay. I typically love the kaffir lime leaves flavor, but it was overpowering here. The flavor of the curry was just okay, and I don't think the pineapple really added to or complimented this particular dish, and it seemed unnecessary.. but I get that pineapple curry is a thing, and this was just my first experience with it. There were far too many green bell peppers in the curry. The consistency was like water, which was very upsetting to me!! I like my curries to have at least 50% more thickness than this one had! Very disappointing.
Entree #2: Drunken Noodle with chicken. The chicken seemed a little low in quantity, and the noodles seemed high. The flavor, while not bad, was very peppery. I liked it. But I sense it might be overpowering for some. The noodles were kind of broken up and dry, and this dish was very greasy.

Read moreI apparently came on a bad day?! I LOVE Thai food and eat it all the time. I ordered yellow curry with chicken for the first time at this place and I brought it all the way home and it's absolutely the very worst Thai dish I've ever eaten! The sauce is literally as thin as water and has almost no taste. I always get mild or medium depending on how heavy the place tends to go on spices but even the mildest dishes I've had over the years still taste amazing as I love curry. I'm so Unhappy because I paid $10.00 for this meal that is literally going in the garbage because it's not even worth the calories. I just called over to the restaurant and spoke to the rudest woman who was "pretending" that she couldn't understand me and kept asking me "yeah? What you want" probably like 5x so incredibly rude! I kept asking for a manager and she kept saying the above statement. Then she said what do you want, we're really busy. Then I asked again for a manager and she hung up on me! NOT OK! I'm a customer and I simply purchased a meal earlier today while I was in town to have for dinner because I live inSan Tan Valley and we don't have any good Thai here. Now I'm SOL. That's pathetic and absolutely not how to treat customers. I would NOT at all recommend this place if you're a Thai food person who knows how it's suppose to taste and the texture it's supposed to have. Really...
Read moreI arrived at Tum Nak Thai 7:47pm. I realized the online said they closed at 830pm, so i wanted to be sure i got there before they had some kitchen cuttoff time. Anyways, they were open, so i walked in. Other customers were seated, and so i waited for someone to speak with to be seated. No one in sight. I waited. And waited. And waited. 21 minutes later, staff appeared. Took some phone orders. Then, they looked at me. I asked if i could sit and order. She said, yes, what do you want to order. I asked if i should sit first. She said no. Then asked if i wanted takeout. I repeated myself, can i please sit down and eat? She said no. Do you want takeout?
It took 25 minutes for me to experience being told they wouldn't serve me. I get places like to close kitchens a few minutes before close. But this was just plain rude. Refusing to appear ina 20 minute span, then, while other customers were seated, to tell someone to go away or order takeout. It was just too brutal.
Do they have good food? Who knows. Are the people good to deal with? Doubt it. Is the experience good? Highly unlikely.
A poor restaurant with a terrible perception that human beings may want to pay them money to enjoy their food.
