My family and I decided to do business with this establishment about a month ago and stayed for 14 days not knowing what was going on behind our backs. At first, the experience was pleasant, however when it got towards our time to check out things took a drastic turn for the worse when we were greeted with a bill that showed additional charges to that which were agreed upon and attempted without our knowledge. We were informed that we had a locked in rate for about $89 a night for the duration of our stay. That would make sense seeing that as a gesture of customer appreciation seeing as how we gave them two weeks of business. That was not the case however because even though we were told that on more than one occasion by the girl behind the desk with the pink hair, charming and very professional by the way, we come to find out that they were actually charging about $125 up to $150 a night before tax. I didn't think about it at first but I can see now how they figured they could sneak that in because every few nights I would come down with my wife and son to let the pink haired girl know we were extending our stay and about to give her my card, we were told that we were all good and and that not to worry because she could just extend our agreement in the computer and had assured us that we were still locked in at the $89 a night price. Well, on the 14th day we went to finalize our bill only to find out the card on file was flagged for fraud by my bank. Why? ... well that's because the bank informed me that the hotel was attempting to get authorization for six differently priced charges on several occasions. That sounds a bit sketchy seeing as how the bill should have been around $1370, no more than $1400, and they had it at about $2000. That's a hell of a surprise to wake up to now isn't it? First, I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone I know and like from this point forward. If you do plan on booking a room here, make sure that if you use a credit card to pay attention to everything and ask for printouts at every transaction even if they tell you not to worry because if they had no problem doing this to us, how many other guests have they tried scamming this way and when will it end? Now, let's get into the customer courtesy part of this juncture because once we went to discuss this huge difference in charges than we were originally led on to believe, they turned a complete 180 degree turn with their customer service and mannerisms. They became very combative and very rude even going as far as sending an house keeper to our door when we went back up to grab a different method of payment to threaten us with getting the police involved if we didn't comply to the new set of charges they had on file even after we proved to them the charges were previously set at the $89 price based off our bank statement which they asked us to provide. Soooo when we provide the information they asked for we still get threatened? ... This was such a horrible experience because my family and I use hotels quite frequently due to traveling back and forth from California to New York so to have this experience occur and on top of it having my 8 year old son scared to death that the police were going to arrest his father ... not something I wish anybody to have to experience. Again, if you still decide to do business with the Country Inn in Mesa, Arizona after sharing my experience with you, make sure you don't get on the wrong side of these women especially the manager, Ushma I believe it was, because they turn very vicious and have no problem voicing the details of your billing quite loudly in front of other guests and potential customers not to mention threatening with getting the police involved saying that we are on a trespassing list. Really??? That's very embarrassing for anyone to have to deal...
Read moreDisgusted upon arrival, at how the front desk staff failed to greet and welcome me after 10 minutes of waiting in line. After finally, getting the opportunity to check in, they mention, my reservation is giving them errors but settle it. Upon receiving the room key and entering my room.... I hear someone laughing in the restroom and immediately exit with fear. I approach the front desk and explain, someone is in my room, and receive no compassion other than a confused front desk staff that obviously needs more training. My original reservation consisted of a king suite, but I was now being placed into a 2 bed, room. Traveling independently, the last thing I want to see is an empty bed, in my double bed room, beside me, for the 5 days of traveling. The next morning, when I request I be placed in my original reservation, in which I received confirmation of, I am told they are overbooked and nothing is available for the week. At this point, I am in distraught with the fact that my original accommodation was not fulfilled. Fine! So- I go on with my workday and after arriving back to the hotel, and prepare to enter my room, see that... my door is not securely locked and easily accessible to open without the use of my key. I approach the front desk, to inform them, & so they send in the maintenance guy, but at this point, I am most concerned with the safety of my belongings in the room as well as the uncomfortable situation that I originally went through upon arrival. The following morning, I feel the need to mention this situation to the manager as well as feel forced into a very uncomfortable situation by still being in a room with 2 beds, when I knew, for my own needs and reasons a king suite would be most suitable. My original reservation was not honored. I was placed through the most traumatic experience when entering someones room, at 10PM, and risking the possibility of being assaulted or even murdered with this day and age by someone who may have seen my unnecessary entrance as intruding on them, so late in the evening. This uncomfortableness was again, introduced to me when I realized my room had been unlocked for a whole day.... which then, took a maintenance guy an hours to fix, at the most inconvenient time at the end of my 12 hr. workday. THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST HOTEL YOU COULD STAY AT. IF YOU ARE NOT LOOKING FOR HOSPITALITY or comfort while traveling, THEN I WOULD RECOMMEND YOU STAY HERE BECAUSE, after requesting that a manager call me, I realize that USH AMIN, COULD CARE LESS ABOUT HOSPITALITY LET ALONE THE DISCOMFORT OF THEIR CLIENTS, DUE TO THE FACT, THAT HER EXPLANATION TO ME, WAS THAT- THERE WAS NOTHING SHE COULD DO TO HELP ME FEEL BETTER WITH BECAUSE, I WAS ALREADY RECEIVING A RATE OF 150 OR EVEN MAYBE 130 DOLLARS, COMPARED TO THE 200 AND SOME THEY COULD BE CHARGING, THIS PEAK SEASON.... WHEN I MADE IT KNOWN, THAT I DID NOT WANT TO PAY FOR SOMETHING I FELT FORCED INTO, AFTER NOT BEING GRANTED MY STAY IN A KING SUITE, AS WELL AS EXPRESSING THAT I DID NOT APPRECIATE THE ANXIETY MY EXPERIENCES PROVOKED, NOT ONCE.... BUT TWICE, AND HER FEELING THAT MY ORIGINAL CORPORATE RATE WAS ENOUGH. DUE TO THAT- WE WILL BE REMOVING ALL BUSINESS FROM THIS HOTEL. THANK YOU- COUNTRY INN AND USH FOR DEMONSTRATING NOTHING BUT DISCOMFORT AND HOSTILITY TO THE FACT THAT I COULD NOT ACCEPT MY EXPERIENCE, CONSIDERING I WAS ALREADY...
Read moreQuite possibly the worst hotel experience of my life. After a long exhausting motorcycle ride to get to the hotel I retired to my room to get some sleep, only to be awakened by deafening construction noise. I went to the front desk to complain and the clerk told me "I asked the guy to stop, but he wouldn't!" I'm not kidding. I had construction noise all 3 nights of my stay, and no, they didn't advertise or warn that any work was taking place prior to my stay. I asked for a manager to call me to discuss this and of course nobody did. Also, the front desk is rarely manned and they never answer the phone.||I figured that I'd watch some TV in the room then, and, lo and behold, the TV didn't work! They did send a maintenance guy up who managed to cobble together functionality by giving me 3 separate remotes to control the TV (one for power on/off, one to change channels, and one to change volume). The on/off remote quit working so, if I wanted to turn the TV on or off, I had to get out of bed and do it manually. Also the TV had the wrong room number, so things like hotel services (check out etc) did not work.||Here are a few more things:||The ice machine on my floor didn't work, but a helpful sign said I can go up 4 floors to the "working one"||The vending machines don't take credit cards so you have to have cash (welcome to the 70s).||The coffee in the lobby was luke warm and they CHARGE for water.||They did have a decent breakfast with hot eggs (terrible), sausage (decent) and waffles (good), but the area had overflowing trash cans and dirty surfaces.||Several of the rooms in my area had carpet coming up around the doorways for a tripping hazard. ||I went out to the pool behind the hotel, only to discover that my room key wouldn't get me back in. I had to walk around the entire hotel to the lobby.||The conditioner in the shower had bottle designed to be squeezed, but they mounted it in the corner of the shower such you couldn't squeeze it. I bet they save a lot on conditioner that way!||Over all just an...
