Visited on a Saturday night around 9:30pm - I was a little confused when I pulled up - I noticed two different gaming stores (the other one is a comic gaming store but it also has tables). I don't recall seeing a lit-banner for Ironheart Wargaming, I could be wrong - they could use a sign.
I talked with Vinny, he introduced himself as an Ambassador for the store, he mentioned they primarily focus on Magic The Gathering but they do have a Warhammer event at least once a month. They do not charge to play on their tables, there is no hourly fee, it's free. They have a few tables in the front and a couple tables in the back. Vinny mentioned they do have a couple loaner armies you can borrow to play if you'd like, as well as terrain/environment items. There were a couple people playing, so there's at least one extra table not included in the photos.
They could use more product on their shelves, their paint especially was a little lacking. I used their bathroom, it could use a lot of TLC, make it look a little more nice. I took some pictures, they didn't all turn out great, but as I was leaving the owner, Nick, walked out and flagged me down (he had just returned to the store after getting back with food). We talked for a little bit, real nice guy, seemed like he was really interested in wanting to do better and get more product on his shelves. I hope to see them go far and I wish them the best. This is a good little local game store to hangout and play. While I originally was going to give them 5 stars, they could use improvement in a few areas before that happens - it's still a great local...
Read moreAn absolute blast going to Ironheart. Nick is unbelievably helpful and gave me the opportunity to get one of the coolest armies I've ever seen. A samurai themed Dark Angels army that is quite literally an award winning army regarding it's paint scheme.
Any questions anyone has regardless of experience when addressing wargaming Nick can answer, no matter the army you play or the ideas you have Nick can easily help you and being the friendliest guy you'll meet. IHWG really does feel like going to someone's house to play games rather than a big box corporate store that just views it's players as ATMs. Anyone frustrated with over crowded game stores or just looking for a comfortable place to play I wholeheartedly...
Read moreCame here once and found their selection was pretty small but that’s not much of a reason for a one star review, however the prominent smell of weed and lackluster customer service is. I was made to feel like a burden on the company because I only got some paint as I wasn’t interested in the minis available. I had to wait for the cashier for a few minutes as well while he waited around the corner talking with friends. Unhappy with the selection, unhappy with the store presentation, and unhappy with the service. I will not be returning or suggesting this store to anyone I know. They have their niche and are not welcoming to those...
