I am writing to express my disappointment regarding a recent experience my family and I had at the McKellips Red Mountain Michael’s store. As a long-time customer, I was disheartened by the events that transpired during our brief visit, which occurred just an hour before closing.

Within just 10 minutes of entering the store, my daughter had an unsettling experience while using the restroom, which was utterly unclean. She reported that an associate entered, appearing visibly frustrated, and stood outside her stall, which caused her significant distress. This situation left her feeling unsafe and prompted her to leave the restroom in haste to find me.

As I was listening to her recount the incident, I noticed the same associate, along with another staff member, observing us and discussing our situation in a manner that felt accusatory. My husband suggested we leave to avoid further confrontation, but as we exited, the associate followed us outside with her arms crossed, which escalated the situation further. This experience not only marred what was meant to be a pleasant outing but also felt unprofessional and, unfortunately, discriminatory. Tara and Heidi, phenomenal Ladies! I gave my Word I’d leave a Google Review, at my volunteering, for their awesome efforts when I came into Michaels yesterday. I’m Southern, so yesterday can be up to 2 months ago, lol. In this instance, last week I believe. I drive for various Delivery platforms, and for every one of my customers, I give a greeting card to, put a personal touch on, personal affirmation inside. I was raised on Southern Hospitality, IT IS A WAY OF LIFE or you get your backside some attention. For March I was roaming the land, far and wide for St. Patrick Day stickers. Can you believe that barely anybody has any, prior to Michael’s and such!!! BUT TARA gives me guidance on an even better IDEA. That’s what’s great about people at Michael’s, they come alongside your idea and amplify it to dust off the cobwebs. I get to the front and Heidi treats me like a Cousin visiting from out of town, sweet and homey and all kinds of personal to make sure I have everything I need before I go.
