I took my wife for what I thought would be a great Valentine Days experience. The tickets said come at 5:30 but we arrived at 5:10 and were escorted to our seats. When we arrived at our table another couple was already there and took both of the seats nearer to the stage. I booked tickets so both my wife and I could sit together but apparently if you arrive first you get to pick and they chose the best seats so my wife and I could not be seated next to one another for our big evening out. The guy now beside me was a huge man the size of a football lineman and I would surely had trouble seeing the show. They went up to the buffet and I asked an employee why we were not seated together as the tickets as we picked when we bought them and she said whomever gets there first gets to decide. Wow. We then got up to go to the buffet and the food selection was terrible and everything was cold. At $79 a ticket this was a big bust. I kept apologizing to my wife and I could tell she was very disappointed as well. The manager should be fired and the food service discontinued immediately. I would rather a burger at any fast food place. We finished eating by 5:45 there was still no entertainment and we asked when the music started to which the worker said 7:00. Wow not even quiet dinner music and we were bored to tears. The table behind us were playing cards and have obviously been here before. We got up and walked around and went to the washroom. The men's was lined up for a long way. Way too few stalls and urinals for a place this large. Well we walked around and found an empty table way in the back and when we returned we told out table mates that if they didn't change seats and if we couldn't sit together then we would get another table way in the back. They reluctantly changes seats and we were finally together. The music finally started late at 7:15 an hour and a half after we finished our meal but was fabulous. Absolutely great. This place should quit making food cut the price in half and we could have had a meal elsewhere and arrived at 7:00 and had a good time. I highly do not...
Read moreWe had a nice time at the Silver Star Theater for a December 30th, 2023 Variety Show. We went to celebrate a family member's birthday. We have all been there before when it was Broadway Palm Dinner Theater, so had an idea of what to expect. Overall, we'd go back to see other shows and invite friends and family for another local experience.
I purchased the tickets online (phone version was a bit tricky, better on the website) and checked in at the desk to the left of the main entrance (doors most right of the location). They didn't scan my barcode, just provided my name for my tickets. We got there a little before 5:30 PM and had some time to use the restrooms and look around the gift shop. We then went to be seated at our table, Row BB in the middle, which were nice seats, still reasonably close to the stage.
Drink prices are reasonable. Buffet was fine and you could go back as many times as you'd like (usually long wait and food was just alright - some things were better than others). Salad bar usually didn't have a line.
Show started at 7:05 PM, Intermission at 7:46 PM and after an encore, the show ended at 9:06 PM. We loved listening to vocalist Devon Lewno, who had such an energetic, captivating personality. Chuck Curry, Flagstaff local, was a great host, singer, and had incredible trumpet skills! It was a nice band to...
Read moreMy lady and I enjoyed our return to the Silver Star after 3 years. We chose the Ultimate Hits show featuring rock hits from the 60's, 70's and 80's.
When we arrived this past Friday (August 4th) evening, we noticed the bar was no longer there. We were informed that our servers (they were wonderful, not to mention efficient) would be available to take cocktail orders at our table and this worked out fine.
The buffet was still there and the fare was good overall except for the pasta which was fairly salty. Their famous layered chocolate cream cake was delicious as always and our iced water tumblers were never empty.
The show was absolutely fantastic as always with the exception of the underwhelming jokes. The artists were enthusiastic and had no problem getting us audience members to engage with them.
The various song selections were well sung and played and much appreciated by those of us in the audience. The band and vocalists were at the TOP of their game during this Ultimate Hits show! Note: The Elvis impersonator was damned good!
A BIG thank you to the band, vocalists and the outstanding staff at The Silver Star! We're looking forward to attending additional shows in the...
