2 things are great about Salad and Go: 1) the food and 2) the prices. Unfortunately, everything else about this particular location is sub-par.
First, service is rushed at all times of day, even if no one else is in line, and order takers rarely listen thoroughly. I often (as in nearly every single visit) have to repeat my very simple order more than once because the order takers are distracted by other things and only half-listen to what customers are saying. Some order takers even have a habit of interrupting with what they assume the order will be before I can finish my sentence to inform them of what I actually want. Again, my order is ridiculously simple, so this shouldn't be an issue at all.
Today I had to repeat my order 3 times and found out when I got home that the staff still got it wrong. I dealt with the same issues earlier this week and again last week, with different staff, which means the problem is widespread.
It is possible that part of the issue has to do with the automated ordering prompt (woman's voice that welcomes you once you first reach the speaker), which may cause customers to begin ordering before the staff is ready. The other part of the issue is clearly management-based, either in terms of inadequate training, lack of process quality control, or both.
Furthermore, the wait here is ridiculous within an hour either side of any meal times. I realize that is to be expected with any popular restaurant, but the traffic flow to get into the drive-thru at this location is downright abysmal. I regularly see people getting cut off in line, becoming angered, and leaving the line completely out of frustration that the wait is so long and there is no convenient way for cars to line up once the queue is more than 4 or 5 cars long. The drive-thru orientation needs to be rethought or signs placed to direct drivers how to form a line once it is beyond the curbing of the physical drive-thru.
Lastly, the fact that the walk-up window is reserved for online orders only is inexcusable. There is no way to know this until you park and walk up. So, if you were previously waiting in line in your car, you lose your spot, have to rejoin the line at the back and wait even longer. It's a truly a frustrating experience that I have gone through myself and I watch people go through every time I'm there when it's busy. I even saw it happen today...twice. If denying walk-up orders was truly a safety precaution, as I've repeatedly been told, then the walk-up window shouldn't be used at all.
Salad and Go as a company has a lot going for it, but this location has several areas to improve on before they deserve a top rating. Hopefully management will see this and consider implementing some quality improvements. Until then, I sadly can't recommend this...
Read moreSad to write this post but I will never be returning to this establishment again. My boyfriend and I went through the drive-through on Wednesday evening at around 7:30, I ordered the antipasto salad and he ordered the BBQ ranch salad wrap with chicken. Thankfully, his wrap was fine. My salad, however, wasn’t. I found a long blonde hair twisted up in my salad! I know it wasn’t either of ours, my hair is bright red and my boyfriends is dark brown. I tried to look for a phone number to call them and ask for a refund, but the number listed on yelp doesn’t work and they don’t have any phone numbers listed on their website. So, I drive back, get out of the car and go up to the walk-up window. This girl, coincidentally with blonde hair, opens the window and I tell her that I would like a refund as I found hair in my salad. I also brought back the salad with said hair, for proof. She says ok, takes my salad and closes the window, comes back in a minute with cash for my salad refund. I proceeded to ask her for a refund on my whole order and tell her what my boyfriend had. As she’s ‘processing my refund’, she says ‘Just so you know in the future, I can’t open this window past 7’. There was a sign on the window that said the walk-up window closes at 7. So then I said, well maybe you guys should be more careful about not getting hair in your customers food, to which she replies ‘Oh, that wasn’t from me’. Then she shuts the window. Not once did she apologize for the mistake or do anything to rectify the situation. What absolutely horrid customer service. This is super disappointing as I spend a lot of money at Salad and Go, and this particular location as it is so close to home, convenient and I loved the fact that it was a healthier option. Well, never again will I be...
Read moreWe stopped by there tonight. I had a greek salad and my son had the cobb. Both salads were fresh and tasted great. $6 average for most of the salads if you don't get a meat, I think it has a pretty good value and a nice alternative for a fast meal. We went a couple miles out of or way to try it. For the size of the salad, I could go for a little more of the goodies that come with the greens, but it wasn't skimpy. I've seen skimpy at other places before. We asked for dressing on the side. 1 dressing won't be enough, so just ask for 2 from the jump. My ceasar dressing tasted good, as did my son's blue cheese ranch. I can be picky about dressing. Since this is our first time, I don't know if they mix the dressing in for you or just pour it on top; or if on the side is standard. The only thing I didn't really like was some types of greens weren't cut up and too big to eat. Cut up pieces or romaine with huge pieces of kale and other leafy greens. It's a little petty and not a big deal, but if you don't have a knife then you'll look like a cow when you chew on these huge leaves. I'd go back again. Maybe try one of those healthy smoothies they make and a...
