This was our first time here. I order the Knuckle sandwich my husband order the Hero sandwich and our friend order the Veggie sandwich. My sandwich was missing the Cheese. I only ask for the horseradish on the side cause I don't like it. For the price of this sandwich there is nothing special or different from any other places braise pull beef sandwich. I got to say the Hero is really tasty. I would recommend that , but again, there is nothing different on this sandwich either. The Veggie sandwich we request that they skip the tomatoes since my friend can't have them ( they put tomatoes on top of the spinach) and the cheese on the side. The person that was taking our order was a little rude, he ask my friend that if she have ever eaten at the salad place before, that maybe next time she would want to try that. Because he likes it and everything is fresh😳. She said to him in visiting, I'm not from here. I live in Florence (by the jail, No wonder)that was he's comment. We also order 2 drinks and 2 waters. He give us 3 drinks and 1 water when I ask him to switch one of the drink chips for a water cup,he rolled he's eyes like if it was a real problem. To tell you the truth, me personally would not come back to this place. Very disappointed of food and service.

6/7/25: Short version - drove 30 miles to try Knuckle Sandwiches and we would do it again. Very color restaurant inside, pretty wide patio (no misters), fun artwork & decor, and quite a few tables for customers (but not crammed together). Long version - the gal behind the counter (sorry for not catching her name) was extremely upbeat & friendly, she started right in being all helpful with bread choices, describing the sammy sizes, and offering advice when asked "coleslaw or regular potato salad?" She said coleslaw & it was a good choice. It was the creamy type, not the vinegary type. My sister enjoyed the German potato salad. I ordered the steak sub (sans onions), sister went with the heavyweight (three kinds of meat). Both came with a large, crunchy pickle quarter. The steak sub was loaded with meat that was well seasoned, and had just the right about of mushrooms, and a scooch of the horseradish sauce (just like the gal said it was so kudos to her again). :-) Everything was reasonably priced, too. I would take a Knuckle Sandwich over those other larger brand name sandwiches any day.

I've gone to Knuckle Sandwiches now about 6 or 7 times. Every time I've ate something excellent. The place is a Sandwich shop located off of Higley and Brown in Mesa. It features homemade spin on sandwiches you know and love, and some you've never heard of (but will love when you try them). I've tried the following sandwiches: * Hero- italian meat sandwich * Meatball sub * Dagwood - ridiculously monstrous taste-fest * Cuban sandwich * Knuckle sandwich- pot roast on a bun * Meatloaf sandwich * Turkey Cranberry Sandwich- Thanksgiving on a bun I also tried 2 of the soups (clam chowder, chicken tortilla). Everything I have tried was wonderful. Great tastes. Plenty of options and flexibility with how you want things done. And MASSIVE portions. I ahd to bring home portions half of the time. Too big for one meal! The people are kind, and pricing is reasonable, in line with other local specialty sandwich shops. The shop has plenty of seating and good drink options as well. If you are east Mesa, you should check this place out. Great stuff.

Only giving them a three at the time being because I am contemplating that I may never want to go back again. First couple of times I went in great customer service and the food was excellent. Third time I went in I understand there. They were a little busy, but there were two young ladies working the front registers. I put my order in for four sandwiches total. Two of them were special order. One of them was missing off of the receipt and she completely forgot another sandwich. I felt the whole time as though she wasn't paying attention or she may have been very new. I gave her the benefit of the doubt. My total came up to a very low amount. I said something's wrong here. A sandwich was missing so I had to reorder that sandwich. As I went to sit down to wait for my to go order, I realized that another sandwich was missing off of the receipt. Which was a sandwich for a family member. I was taking home so I had to go back up and reorder the sandwich. This time I spoke with the other young lady. While I was ordering, I realized that the lady that was taking my first order was in the middle of repeating someone's order and treating them very nicely and he was a male patron. Immediately I thought to myself it was very odd that he was treated better than I was. I didn't kind of understand it and left their confused. When I got home. Philly cheesesteaks that were minus onions and peppers because of allergies but I wanted to add the mushrooms were missing the mushrooms. So after all the hassle I still didn't get my order right. I know this sounds like a minor complaint but The issue I have is that you're talking to these people face to face. There should be absolutely no reason why they should get your order wrong. They should stop slow down and pay attention and every patron should be treated...

Update: Still the best sandwich in Arizona. Hands down. I miss the peach cream soda and they haven't had jalapeño chips the last few times I've gone, but pineapple cream soda is OK and spicy pickle chips are a passable substitution. Get the BLATT. SO GOOD. They also have good cookies, tasty pizza, and perfectly acceptable nachos. If I was rich I'd get lunch here everyday. The BLATT is a perfect sandwich. That, with a peach cream soda and jalapeno chips is a perfect lunch.

My only criticism is that sometimes I have to also get lunch for my dad and brother, and they're boring, so they want BLTs with no mayo, and 1/3 times even if you ask for no mayo, you still get mayo. And then they're all disappointed and either scraping their sandwich to bits or just plain throwing them out -- which is an expensive thing to do, but we also don't live close enough to justify driving back, so. That's not great.

But I don't care, that BLATT with a peach cream soda and jalapeno chips is worth family ire. Have you ever taken a nap after eating a BLATT with a peach cream soda and jalapeno chips? Nothing better. Best way to...
