Hi I am a regular customer of southwest candle supplies and I wanted to share my story with you I make cold process soaps. So I knew I needed to buy some more lye flakes (sodium High dioxide ) so I went to Southwest candle company to buy some lye flakes sodium high dioxide not potassium dioxide. I was a honest mistake that I bought potassium dioxide not sodium high dioxide for cp soaps. I made three batch of soap that never made and had to throw them out all because of a little mistake I didn't know I made asking for the flakes the sales lady said are you sure you want lye flakes?I said yes so she went and got the flakes so I went home all happy think I had gotten the right things I needed but little did I realize I did not . So three filled batches later and double checked my recipes and scale and two old stick blender that died on me for good later I finally called the store this morning and told them what had happend and they we so sweet and nice to me the checked my order and it was a mix up on my part because she asked did it come in a bag or a container.? I said bag and I did ask if it was possible that I got the potassium high dioxide she was nice and said yeah that is what you got by mistake . Now let me explain potassium high dioxide and sodium high dioxide look the same .they were so nice to inform me of the difference and very helpful to me .it was a honest mistake I made but I be going back as a happy customer. It makes a difference to be nice and sweet to someone . Thank you to Southwest candle supplies. I will...
Read moreVery disappointed. I spent a lot of money on fragrance oils that smelled wonderful in the sample jars in the store. We tried to make candles for my business, and all of the fragrances were off, and had a strange lingering odor. We had others smell the bottles to make sure it wasn’t just us, and all agreed they did not smell good. Nothing smelled like it did when sampling the oils in the store. These stunk to the point of making us sick at our stomach, and would be impossible to use or sell/I would NOT give my customers this product in a candle. My husband took the oils back to the company, and they said they did not smell the difference, even when put side by side with the sample oils that definitely DID NOT smell the same. The worker in the store insisted it smelled the same to her. These were not left in a car, and have been in an air conditioned environment since purchasing. My husband was also asked if we had COVID by another customer in the shop, and no, we do not, and we are able to smell, as are the others who sampled our oils and agreed there was a big problem. Why not offer to replace them or refund them since the bottles are brought in full, and nothing is wrong with them per their opinion? Something is obviously off. I am not sure what to do, but I cannot use these. My advice, be wary. Research where you purchase your fragrance oils. This was a very expensive lesson. I hope this helps...
Read moreI have spent thousands with this company. Never had an issue till now. I always keep leather going due to it being popular and I know it takes awhile to absorb. Well 2 weeks and my leather was not absorbing. Sat out in the heat for 3 days to get the beads to absorb the oils, and they were still soaked. So I decided to make a jar of leather from one company and a new jar with their leather. Sat them both outside. Other company the beads absorbed in a couple of ours. Theirs… still soaking wet by the end of the day. Had to dump out all the beads. When I went to rinse out my jar, it was extremely soapy like they put dish soap in their oil? They just say we sale this by 25 lbs and never have an issue. K??? I used to buy pounds of leather from them and never had an issue till now. Will never purchase from this...
