I booked a steam treatment which the price was $50. I call the salon to ask Did the steam treatment service include to make use the price was in my budget, because i did not want to be surprised with a big bill . She told me the steam treatment is a wash to clean the scalp and the steam treatment and a basic style... so I booked the treatment. Guess what after that steam treatment the stylist changed my card $85. So I asked the stylist why it's $85 and the steam treatment I booked was $50 . She told me she changed $35 for the 5 twist she put in my head. YES YOU HEAR MY RIGHT 5 TWIST... now I called first to make sure that my service i booked was in my budget of the $50 service I booked...the next thing was, I have 4c-5c nappy natural hair.. this stylist used a rat tale comb on my nappy 4c-5c hair . I was so mad . She pulled out so much of my hair with that little comb...everyone know to use a wide tooth comb on 4c-5c natural hair especially a hairstylist. All I was saying to myself was after this natural hair journey that took me years to get this far. I will have to cut my hair off again because all the damage and hair she pull out with the rat tale comb ....will I recommend this shop for a natural hair person. NO. Did I feel lied to About the price of my service and over charged .YES... On top of that. This is a salon the have they very own product line. On YouTube I seen them using the products on all there client's to see that they are good and how well the products work. That's not happened. So I was under the impression that she would use the product on the client's hair so we can see how it works and want to buy the products... I had to buy a $32 bottle of the oil for her to use on my head...I would like to add a picture but I don't see a button to add a picture on...
Read moreScandelous Stylist: This is my very first time leaving a review but it's necessary. My experience with employee/stylist, Dawn Marshall was basically criminal. I've booked my appointment over 3 weeks in advance and had to put half down for the service. Less than 24 hours, before my appointment, I received a text from the stylist Dawn Marshall, whom I booked with, saying that the owner tested positive for the new coronavirus strand...she tested negative and was just scared to go in. I told her that was understandable I informed her that I was able to find someone else that can do my hair on the day I booked with her since she didn't want to go in. I resent my cashapp handle so she could return the money - as no service was rendered. A few days later she responded...Telling me that she doesn't give money back for deposits that I would have to reschedule or give it to somebody else. Which neither options weren't of service to me. I did not canceled on her, I trusted her without knowing her because of the reviews... Everything falls on her she tested negative and was "scared" to go in the shop which was understandable but it was not grounds for her to cancel my appointment less than 24 hours...Now she's refusing to return my money. After my last text communicating with her, she just went into solid treatment mode and never responded which is extremely unprofessional...
Read moreI'm in love with the salon! Upon entering, the decor is vibrant, inviting, and squeaky clean! I must admit, I traveled 2hrs for the stylist alone! Dawn Marshall has awesome reviews, and amazing work online debuting her skills. When it comes to hair, I don't think there's any area she's not exceptional in! I'm a 10+yr naturalista, that had never had my hair straightened. I entrusted Dawn with my hair, and was not disappointed! I live over 2000mi away, but when I'm visiting family I most definitely make the 2hr drive to a relaxing salon ambience, and receive the hair care I deserve. Upon my first booking, I had no idea the salon was as spacious and state of the art as it is. That just happened to be a huge plus. The owner Ashanti, is an awesome spirit that welcomed my mother and I, and afforded us with some good laughter as well! It's a pleasure to support this black owned business, and it will be for now, my annual hair care go to...unless I can get in sooner of course! Thank you ladies for an amazing environment, and stellar services. By booking in advanced and leaving a deposit, it assured me an appointment that has not ever been delayed. What more can I say!
