DO NOT BE FOOLED. When this place 1st opened, they wanted to get business so they were so nice, clean, and offered a drink etc. Now that they have settled in, the drink is no longer offered and the niceness is wearing off very fast. My last couple of pedicures (though I ordered the deluxe), were complete rush jobs. So I decided to stop getting their pedicures and would only get my nails done here because I thought they actually did a good job. However, this time I went , they had extra staff that I don't normally see. One of the new ladies was chosen to do my nails. She was rude from the start. She did not say "hello" or anything, just "what do you want". I was in a hurry so I went along with it and told her my color. As she was filing with the machine, she was filing on my skin, and I asked her could she not get so close to my cuticle because she was zapping my skin and it was hurting. She got mad, but she was more careful. Then, I noticed she was laying the acrylic extremely thin, so I asked if she could make it a little bit thicker. She looked at me with disgust, rolled her eyes, but proceeded to make them thicker without saying a word. Fine. The final straw was when she was laying the acrylic, she was missing the side of my nail. I pointed it out to her, she got angry, yanked my hand, and started yelling at me. The manager came over to diffuse the situation, and she started yelling at the manager!!! I let them know, in over 20+ years of me getting my nails done, I have never experienced such disrespect. NEVER is it ok to get physical with a client or yell at them because you don't understand English well. NEVER!!! I told the manager that I felt completely disrespected, I was leaving, and will never do business with them again. She said "No no. I'll do your nails for you don't worry". I told her no, I still wanted to leave. She held my hand and said, "No, I'm sorry for her. She doesn't speak good English. I'll do them" and acknowledged that I've been there many times before, so she would like me to stay. I already had one hand done, so I decided to let her finish. By the end of it, my nails looked nice, but in poor taste, they still decided to charge me. She took off 10% for the situation and said don't worry about the rude technician, some people are that way, maybe she was having a bad day. That is completely UNACCEPTABLE and not enough to keep my business. Good customer service, if you were truly apologetic, would be to say, Sorry about the problem, We value your business, This time is on us, We hope you give us another chance. But NO, instead of comping the service, they still charged me and made excuses for the other woman's behavior. I could have walked out without paying, but I'm not that type of person. I also could have called the police, because technically she assaulted me. Instead, I just paid the fee and walked out, NEVER to return again. They lost a good customer, and after I told 2 other people who I previously recommended to them about what happened, they were horrified and also said that they would NOT be returning. Now they have lost 3 GOOD customers. Customer service is not just about if you do good nails, it's about how you treat your customers AND how you solve problems. I would much rather go back to driving all the way uptown to Jade's Nail Bar, Cindy's, or over to Solar Nail Lounge on West Esplanade. These places have been CONSISTENTLY nice and PROFESSIONAL for YEARS, not just putting on a fake smile for a few months. Take your money where you will be treated well and appreciated. There are tons of nail salons in the area. I strongly advise anyone reading this to GO TO ANOTHER NAIL SHOP! If I could leave a rating lower than one star I would because Gel Nails & Spa doesn't even deserve one star on google based on they way they treated me.
These people are EXTREMELY RUDE, they will try to rip you off, do not value their customers, have VERY POOR UNDERSTANDING, and terrible business etiquette.
I am 31 years old and never in my life have I ever received such terrible service. I've been to this place 4 times in the past...each time to receive at least two to three services. I've spent a good amount of money on those occasions and each time I tipped $5-$10.
However, on my 5th visit I was blatantly taken advantage of as the woman doing my nails decided she wanted to up the nail service I requested to something more expensive. I pointed to what I wanted on the menu, mentioned exactly what I wanted to her at least 5 TIMES!!!!! Each time she confirmed I was indeed receiving the nail service I asked for. I assume she performs these services regularly and I could not have been any more clear.
She waited until she was completely done doing my nails to tell me that she she performed a more expensive service on me (again after confirming more than 5 TIMES that she was doing what I asked her to do)- then tried to tell me that thats what I asked for so I had to pay the difference.
When I told her that wasn't fair and should not have to pay they difference, she immediately got defensive. So, I said to her it didn't have to be an issue between she and I- I would take it up with the manager.
I didn't even get a chance to explain myself to the manager because she ran over to her and started complaining about me in Vietnamese in front of my face and in front of their other customers. The manager then flipped out (while she was in the middle of doing another customer's nails) and demanded that I pay the difference for a service that I not only did not ask for, but also got confirmation that I was receiving what I wanted at least 5 times!!!!!!!
I offered to pay the full amount for the services I requested but that wasn't even an option. There was no negotiation or understanding whatsoever. Their attitudes were so nasty towards me from the very beginning. Also very inconsiderate of the other customers that were there at the time as they were screaming at me in front of them.
I WOULD NEVER EVER GO TO GEL NAILS & SPA EVER AGAIN! My experience was so terrible I honestly hope they go out of business. They have no idea how to treat people and they should not have the opportunity to treat anyone else the way they treated me.

At first I walked in and I appreciated the cleanliness. I was the first AND only customer present. I went to get an oumbre full set. My powder nails had to be soaked and after a while someone came and drilled down one hand, but she wasn't the one who did my nails. I found out it was the manager who was to do my set, and when it came time for her to take the powder off my other hand people started to come in. She told me I needed to let them soak more (which I didn't understand considering the other person had just drilled off my powder on one hand very easily). I ended up waiting a good 40 min to an hour. More people were coming in getting pedicures and another worker walked in, but rather than coming to me (I had obviously been there waiting already) she went directly to one of their regular's (who came in after me) pedi. When I finally was serviced by the manager I noticed she started rushing as more people came in, and my nails were not looking like the picture I showed her at all. But I gave her the benefit of the doubt, and the only thing I addressed was the thickness of the nail (which she very passive aggressively dismissed). My nails came out not at all like the picture and because I had somewhere to be (keep in my mind I've been here for almost 2 HOURS now) I came back later asking for some type of redo, but they were at closing time. I was told to come back tomorrow at the MANAGER'S convenience which is absolutely ridiculous to me. If I have a problem with my set, it should be solved at my convenience. I ended up going somewhere else and getting an entirely new set.
