The Korean food here is so delicious! I tried their Dolsot Bibimbap ($14.49), which is basically a Korean dish mixed with rice, beef, spinach, carrots, cucumbers, bean sprouts, radish, lettuce, and a fried egg on the top that’s all served in a hot stove pot with the option of a chili house sauce. You’d have to mix every ingredient in the pot with a metal spoon before eating it (which is not hard), and once I mixed it, my mouth was introduced with a diverse pack of fresh and hot flavors. The hot stove pot made this dish really sizzle. In other words, it tasted really good! This dish also came with mini appetizers beforehand, such as fried tofu, sweet & sour potatoes, spicy cucumbers, and kimchi. They were good too, but the main dish really caught my full attention! For drinks, I just got water. I didn’t have to ask to order water they just offered it to me. With sales tax ($1.33) the total came out to be $15.82. For the Quality of the food the price isn’t bad at all.
The service was also good. They weren’t very talkative and cheerful once I came in, but they were still nice and patient overall. The restaurant was clean as well. Something I would critique, however, is the decor and spacing of the restaurant itself: The decor looked a bit dull. I wish that it was more colorful on both the outside and inside because I initially missed the restaurant since it looked like an empty building instead of an actual establishment. As for the spacing inside, the seats are a bit limited, but I can’t blame that all on the owners and should it more on the builders of the building instead. I hope that they can make the decor more nice in the future to attract more customers. Aside from that, I was still satisfied with my time at NOLA Korea. I would definitely come back for their...
Read moreNever had an issue until today. First when I went to pick up my order, after paying I ask for another bag so my bag would be doubled. He said NO! I explained that I’m walking and my bag was full. So he went and got the bag but tossed it at me and then pretended to be busy. I was astonished. I said “Really sir?!” He ignores me. I was completely disturbed I had already made up my mind that this was the last time I would order because I do not deserve this type of disrespect. I normally always order the same thing. Today as always I ordered Ramen and Glass noodles #8 Appetizer. When I got my order home it was something I’ve never seen before. I called back and explained my order wasn’t correct and could I have what I ordered. He said No and simply hung up. If it wasn’t a $10 pork meal I would have eaten it but because I don’t eat pork I’m just out of $10. I’m disgusted because I really enjoy their food..but the fact that he was so nasty to me and messed up my order and refuse to fix it I can not and will not patronize a business with this behavior and disregard for customers. I will be calling the BBB to file a complaint as well as extending my concerns to social media. This is why we as a community must stop giving our money to these types of businesses that come in our neighborhoods and make money off of ppl the care nothing about....
Read moreNola Korea is a little Korean restaurant that recently opened. I've had my share of disappointments for Korean food in NOLA and decided to give this place a try. We went here as a group of 6 on a Friday night and was seated right away...there werent a lit of customers.
For appetizers we ordered the tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), kimchi pancakes, and the spicy fried chicken. All of them were delicious. I really enjoyed the crispy kimchi pancakes. The spicy rice cakes however were a little undercooked, as the texture was not soft...
We also got the bibimbap which came with some gochujang/chilli paste. It was not the best...I felt like it was lacking in flavor and the chili paste was very sweet instead of spicy.
Overall my experience here wasn't too bad, the worker was very nice, just the flavor of the food could've...
